Came out great! Likely much more needed on your house than my studio as we have gas heat so I am able to fully remove it without worry. Really amazing to me that the Romans made mortar that has lasted thousands of years yet this 60 year old mortar is trash.

With the rain in the forecast I HAD to get out and work on the studio before it hits. The gaping hole in the wall was only half empty of the bricks and if I wanted to cover the opening I needed it cleared. In the morning I kept at the brick removal and got to the point I was about to pull down the inside, but there was still stuff on the mantle. I managed to remove all the bricks with minimal debris inside. Today I will work on filling the hole in with lumber before weather hits.
I got my stepper motor but am fighting with it and the motor driver. The code is correct but I think I need more voltage to drive the motor as there is a couple volts dropped in the driver H-bridges. I am going to check my tattoo gun power supply and see if it will go over 12 volts as it could be a possible option if it does.
I get my new #LoRa today so am looking forward to getting them going as they have GPS this time.

I've seen them available but this is a looooong standing project that I have wanted to build since I have all the parts except the motor. $15 motor with everything I already have and this is way more satisfying than buying a production setup.

I spent the first day of Spring inside on the computer building out my chicken coop door opener with my #Arduino Mega. It's a project that I attempted a decade ago but got stymied midway through and tossed on the shelf to sit and collect dust while the idea sloshed around the back of my brain. In a fit of sudden awareness yesterday I managed to cobble together the setup I had wanted to build so long ago. AND IT WORKS!
I get the stepper motor today and once it is tested I will work to get everything installed. It will open the door on times for now with the RTC until I can get the light sensor coding to work right as another requirement for the code to run. I'm trying to get the #LoRa to talk to the Arduino so it can message me on opening and closing but it's not seeming to talk yet. I get new LoRa tomorrow that have GPS and are more powerful so I can try then.

Yesterday's predawn grain run was bigger than the prior and it covered the last garden spot on the #farm nicely then the rest of the hill by the road. Mid day I loaded up the trailer with rocks and boulders from the wall I had built over a decade ago. The well over a ton of rocks got moved to the wall I have now built along the road where the rocks are out of the way and building a wall that won't ever have to move.
Have found #Reticulum and #RNode and am diving into them as potential. I also found that the little #LoRa board is NOT meant to be on a large antenna as I bricked one of mine... Back to the #Arduino finally and have some relearning to do as I try to build the coop door opener.

Found myself diving down the #Reticulum and #RNode rabbit hole. Seems to have much higher data throughput capacity then the #meshtastic but haven't quite found how much it's being implemented.

The first predawn grain run of the week yesterday morning was for a lighter load which went to the hillside. Today's goes to the one garden before tilling. Got the irrigation and water feature started up for my client after my chiro appointment. It's good to catch up with him each spring and fall.
Mid day I got the 18650 holders delivered and mounted them to the little #LoRa which are charging pretty well. I got to test them for the first times and the first test was solid half a mile away. On my way back to the house in the evening my #2 pinged my #1 at 2 miles away (line of sight). That was with #1 sitting next to my computer in the house. Pretty excited to play with these a lot more and get one solar powered and mounted on top of the upper property for MUCH better signal distance potential (90 feet elevation difference).

Another busy day yesterday in the gorgeous spring weather. After the miracle Man Utd win I got some tasks done around the house before fixing more of the potholes in the road. It's a constant battle to keep them filled in. The greenhouse has to get opened up in the day to keep it from getting to hot now that the sun is out more.
I spent time in the afternoon tearing down part of the chimney on the studio. Talk about some worthless mortar, the stuff has degraded to dust now and it was built in the 1950s. I get some really nice fire bricks out of the mess and a pile of red brick to use elsewhere.
The new soldering iron made life much easier getting the headers on my #LoRa so now I can start plugging stuff into them. Tons of ideas have been rumbling around my head as I work with them more.

Yesterday we actually got a real wrestling tournament to happen at a school more than large enough to accomodate the numbers. He ended up 1-2 for the day but his attitude was great the whole time so in my book the day was still a win.
The greenhouse is now back to summer mode after I pulled the inner plastic when I found the temp was at 110F. The spinach and lettuce were NOT happy but perked up almost instantly when I rolled the side up to exhaust the heat. Soon I will have to move the miner as mid day is getting too hot for it and the nights aren't that cold to need the heat.
The #LoRa devices are pretty slick and I have a ton of ideas rumbling in my head for their uses. I get my new sodlering iron today so I can get the headers on them and start playing with sensors.

DO IT! I'm fighting with the stupid dependencies and getting everything to play nice on the Zero. If I went with a 3 or better this wouldn't likely be an issue but I want small form factor.
I just got them working but now have to learn a lot about them and start playing around. It's another rabbit hole for me to dive down. These things are crazy small!

Between the screaming bald eagles🦅 and the fog horn great horned owls🦉 making a massive racket yesterday morning at 3:30am I was awake for the day. It helps to be a morning person so I am actually able to function at that time and not just be a zombie. The nice and peaceful calmness of the predawn hours is one off my favorite of the day.
I spent my morning fighting with #linux and the Raspberry pi and e-paper hat trying to get one of the various programs to actually work. Frustrating but a good challenge. I got my #LoRa #mestastic device in the evening and am going to be digging into them in the coming days to learn a lot.
Wrestling tournament today which is for sure going to be way way better than last week.

5:30 am yesterday morning the post office called that our #turkey🦃 chicks had arrived and it was not long before they were safely in the house awaiting dawn so I could get them to the brooder. They all look good and healthy and happy to be under the nice warm light of the brooder and they were soon eating away at the feed in the tray.
Dentist then chiro then home made for quite the busy morning. I got my Pi Zero on Pi day and tried to get the e-paper to work all afternoon while the PDC night 7 was on. I'm still fighting with the various btcticker codes I'm finding.
This morning I was awakend at 3:30am to the sound of the Bald Eagles screaming at each other on the hill AND a group of Great Horned Owls that were hooting SUPER loud across the farm at each other. Damn owls are almost like a fog horn they are so loud.
