This is what the AI just spit out.
To determine the sample size needed to confirm at least 50% of the heifers are pregnant with a 75% confidence level, you can use a formula for calculating sample size for proportions in a finite population.
The formula is:
n = [Z^2 * P(1-P) * N] / [(N-1) * MOE^2 + Z^2 * P(1-P)]
where:
n = sample size
Z = Z-score corresponding to the desired confidence level (for 75% confidence level, Z ≈ 1.15)
P = estimated proportion (0.5 for 50%)
N = population size (25 heifers)
MOE = margin of error
Assuming a margin of error of 0.05 (5%), you can plug in the values:
n = [(1.15)^2 * 0.5 (1-0.5) * 25] / [(25-1) * 0.05^2 + (1.15)^2 * 0.5 (1-0.5)]
n = 2.56 / (24 * 0.0025 + 1.56)
n = 2.56 / (0.06 + 1.56)
n ≈ 2.56 / 1.62
n ≈ 1.58
Therefore, you would need to initially test at least 2 heifers to confirm with 75% confidence that at least 50% of the 25 heifers are pregnant.
The heat is setting in for the next days but it should peak on Wednesday and then drop back to under triple digits. I went through the pea rows yesterday and ended up picking 11 pounds between the 3 rows. The plants are doing great this year and are still ramping up to full level production.
During the heat of the afternoon we watched Independence Day. Jeff Goldblum has never played any acting parts, he is just always Goldblum. Every single movie he is in he has never acted.

Hallo #Nostr
Super happy to have my fly reel all cleaned, oiled, and spooled with line so now I can try to find the time to get to the water. It's to be over 100F for the next days so I installed a tarp in the sheep pen to nearly double the shaded area they have. I'll get a tub or two of water under as well to try and keep it cooler for them. Mowed a bunch more, again, and still have more to do thanks to the recent rains. The boys had a blast at the Ninja Nation which is a Ninja Warrior gym in North Spokane and we will be taking them back for sure.

For the 4th our friends and us went to #Idaho to #Silverwood Theme Park where we spent the day in the Boulder Beach side. The boys all had an absolute blast and spent a good amount of time in the wave pools. The lazy river was fun to float with our beers we got at the float up bar. We ended up closing down the water park and made it home just at dark.
Normally our valley is FILLED with booms on the 4th but last night was eerily devoid of the majority, only a scattered few here and there. I heard the larger displays going off in the distance but had no need to go try and see any.

Pretty stoked on the mount for the kayak I devised for my fish finder. I didn't want to mount to the bottom since it would get ripped off too easily so I made this bracket and arm setup that looks to work perfectly. I can remove the arm for travel and change the aim easily while in the water. Can't wait to give it a try.
3 more hay bales are in the line now and they are all just as difficult to roll. The bales are rather large and the wrap is a bit loose while the bales are a bit lopsided. I managed to get them onto the pallets but damn was it a workout. Still need 3 more bales but I will likely wait until 2nd cutting is in.

The best fitness plan is owning a farm and NO tractor. Move 3 round bales by hand, 700lb+ per and a bit lopsided and loose. Works every single muscle in the body. This beer tastes all the better after that workout.

Misty Morning #Nostr
It was an early morning yesterday as I had to go get grain in town. The animals and birds were beside themselves in gorging rapture and spent the bulk of the day taking trips back and forth to the grain piles. In the morning I got help harvesting the cabbage before it got hot, it keeps the heads full of water and not desiccated or dried out this way. They went to the cooler and then sorted as about half are going to wife's coworkers.
Nice thunderstorm overnight dumped .2" of rain but now the heat wave begins with 100+F next week. I can't complain though as the heat has taken its sweet time in building this year.

The gardens are slowly but surely getting the weeds pulled. It is a process getting to all the rows when there are weeds all over the farm. These rains are not doing me any favors on the work load but it is helping the fire danger stay lower.
I got the cooler going so today I will harvest a bunch of cabbage and possibly some greens like Kale and get them in to store. I try to harvest in the mornings when the air is cool and the plants are still full of water from the morning irrigation. The produce stores much better when nice and plump.

Moist Morning #Nostr
All day yesterday the storms tried to wet us but it seems the heat bubble forced the rain all AROUND us and it didn't actually hit until near dark. The next week plus will be sunny and warm which will make the grass and weeds grow some more...
Got my ancient fly reel (1972 make) finally setup so I can actually use it. My grandfather was left handed and I just now figure out how to set it up for right handed... Helps that I found a "historic" site that listed the model number of the reel and said that it was right or left handed. That made me figure out how to turn it around. I have new line and backer coming in the next days so I can finally get it going and use it on the lakes and rivers around here. Also found that I have some SUPER valuable lures that are from the 60s and 70s that were my grandfather and father's old tackle.

Good Morning #Nostr plebeianus
The potatoes nearly took over the basement and it was high time I dealt with them. I filled the wheelbarrow with the removed sprouts and am seeing what happens when a bunch are buried under still wet grain. The potatoes themselves are soft but still edible and a bunch will be getting planted all around the gardens in any open spots.
This damselfy came to check me out while I got the fire going in the evening. It has such a awesome iridescence to it and I am pretty sure it is one of the ones that is always flitting around the front porch.

This is a bureaucracy I can get behind! Not that the tobacco warnings due all that much good but anything is better than the status-quo. Bet the pharma companies fight this since it could "eat" into their profits.
g'day #Nostr
Got the first load of hay hauled home yesterday. The sheep can now stop screaming at me since their faces are buried in the bale. I still need another 6 bales at least to get me through the year and winter but that will only be two more loads.
The first Emiko Asian cabbage heads got harvested and they are superb. The shape and density of them is great and the flavor is delicious. Not nearly as "potent" as regular cabbage. I had to remove about the same number of outer leaves as the regular cabbage to get to the clean hearts. I have a whole row working oon filling out the heads. Thankfully the cooler is ready for the enslaught.
Oh and a hen popped 4 chicks out which she gets to try and raise these on her own.

A farm would be the best all around for fitness and strengthening but that probably won't fit your garage. I'm always partial to rock climbing stuff like hang boards or build a campus board, maybe a bouldering wall?
Our birds freerange and we fenced most the farm off from the deer who are the prime culprits for hauling ticks around. The birds eat any they find and the lack of deer highly limits our numbers.
