Yesterday was a lineup of thunderstorms that dropped .4" of rain over the day and had me rather annoyed as it means at least another round of mowing will be required. The thunder and lightning was cool though and the temps were way lower, so some relief now in trade for effort later I guess.
After the rains I was headed to the mailbox when the herd of turleys came riunning after
"food man". They are rather funny and are a bit like a gang behind me, when I stop they start milling about peeping, chirping, and pecking around for food.
Spent time in the greenhouse trimming and tying the tomato and cucumber plants. The tomatoes are growing quite fast especially since all but 3 are from seed.

Was SUPER nice to get the dump run done early yesterday when there was zero lines. Also pleased with the low cost to dispose of everything but it was largely plastic stuffs. I got some more peas picked and then pulled all the spinach that was bolting. The part for the dishwasher showed up in the afternoon and I quickly got it swapped out and the dishwasher back into service. Not looking forward to replacing the laminate flooring but that will be for later.

Yesterday I found the water inlet valve on the dishwasher is toasted and leaking so today I will install the new one when it delivers. Will have some laminate flooring to replace thanks to the leak. I got a bunch of trails cleared around the farm and still have some areas that need to be weedeat.
I was loading the trailer for a dump run when I found a pair of Rubber Boas. Likely a male and female which I REALLY hope thay reproduce like overzealous Mormons. The more #snakes the less mice and other pests in my gardens.

More mowing yesterday thanks to the recurrent rains this spring/summer that aren't letting the weeds and grasses die off. It's better for fire danger but means constant mowing. The garden is beginning to produce more volume with a nice batch of peas and the last of the early cabbage. 8 pounds between them and there is still the 3 rows growing for our later cabbage.
Florida is Stanley Cup champs for the first time and I loved watching the sour look on Mcdavid's face.

Our dozen chicks are doing great in the brooder hut and all look to be nice and healthy. It really helps having the safe space to keep them. Trimmed the tomatoes in the greenhouse but will need to tie them in a few days once they are a bit taller. I spent the aftgernoon mowing half the farm and still have the other half to do today.

Had a killer time Wednesday thru Saturday on the Columbia River #sailing, #rockclimbing, and #camping. Found a badass campsite with a hillside of rock above it within super easy hiking range. We put up 4 routes with potential for dozens and dozens more.
Then yesterday after getting home from the river I was out in the garden and found our rutabagas are getting big enough to pick so I pulled 5 that went in dinner. I also got our first tomato from the greenhouse and there is another one close to ready.
Today is back to the grindstone as there is tons to do around the farm.

It was storm day yesterday with over half an inch of rain falling in a few hours. Some nice thunder and lightning which had the dog barking his fool head off. I got my climbing gear al lready and gathered the rest of what I am taking. Picked a few cabbage which some went to dinner, the Blackstone is super nice!
Today I head off to sail then climb with my buddy on the Columbia.

SURPRISE! We have a dozen freshly hatched #chicks. It was SUPER easy to catch the chicks but the hen pulled Matrix moves and escaped attempts to catch her. No big deal as I have the chicks and they are safe in the brooder hut. They have food, water, and heat lamps and won't have a chance of getting eaten.
Gathered my #climbing gear and have it mostly prepped for the adventure. I really need to suss out the food stuffs I am taking and get it all packed.

Yep but it's my boys who keep raiding it... Every damn thing requires AAs or AAAs and burn through them at hyper speed. About to put a lock on the batteries and make them earn them. I should just make 18650 packs for them to plug in and actually be rechargable.

Just another day yesterday as the farm doesn't stop. It was a bit cold in the morning but I managed to get out and get working once it warmed a bit. It seems like the weeds are on hyperdrive this year as they just won't stop growing thanks to the consistent moisture we keep getting. At some point the rains will abate and allow the region to dry out... I presume. The boys helped me pull a bunch of them in the afternoon then they lugged the tub to the sheep pen where I could dump it. The sheep were ecstatic and dove right in.
