Since I fenced my property so my dog roams and the deer are NOT walking around there are no ticks. They are the prime mover of the little bastards and the less deer travel the less ticks. At least for me here in the PNW. The chickens free ranging helps a lot too but they aren't up on the hil where the dog roams. I haven't found a tick on him in years.

I have roses, hawthorne, and burrs which are bad enough, briars would really suck. I've gotten into burrs and had them coat the bottom of my kilt but it protected the rest of me from their abrasion.

Lol. It's my uniform from about April thru October each year and I treat them like shit. I don't treat any of my clothes nice but since I wear my kilt everyday it takes the brunt of the abuse as I work around the farm.

Ooopfh. The potholes in the road are filled. After 6 super heavy loads in the wheelbarrow. I just need to make sure the sweeper doesn't come down the road and undo all my hard work.

The apiary is cleaned up so I have room to build the stand for the hive. Moving the hive indoors this year in hopes of actually getting them to overwinter for once. The hardest part will be keeping the mice out.

That was the start to the morning yesterday as I took the boys to school. Aparently the wire and contact had broken up and were in a major fight which caused the 1st cylinder to not exactly want to work right. Mid day I installed the new plugs and wires and what do you know, it runs like a champ now. Especially once I had cleared the codes. It would seem that 2025 is my mechanic year where everything gets worked on...

Slowly but surely I'm getting the valve work done on the head. It's not turning out to be terribly difficult but so far nothing is proving to be bad or likely to have been causing the sound. At this point I'm commited so have to finish the job.

After dealing with the raspberry virus that had infected my greenhouse yesterday I got started on taking the head apart. To keep all the parts together I am using egg cartons which are working perfectly. So far nothing is looking bad but I will change the seals and brush the valves before putting is back together.

Fuck Yeah! After 4 miles of hiking yesterday and thousands of feet of vert I managed my first flight of the year from our new site. Swoop Mountain and the ridge is an outstanding east face. 9 pilots from the club flew from 3 different launch sites. My body is SO SORE from the hike but it was well worth it.

Yesterday the birds weren't too pleased that I spread the grain and didn't let them in on the deal. They have the rest of the farm to roam so they can just deal with not being in the gardens. In the afternoon we went for a hike up to the upper property and have decided on the trees we will use for the eventual treehouse. This is the view it will have looking down the valley.

After the wet run for grain in the morning yesterday I managed to finally get the head off the truck but now I'm trying to diagnose the problem. Once the tool gets here later today I can remove the valves and see if the problem lies there or elsewhere. Very frustrating.
