Tomorrow shall be fun #paragliding with the club. I'm really going to be focused on where they are and where they find lift so I can hopefully follow along and make my first XC flight. I've been pure SHIT at getting into and climbing a thermal so to have a group marking them should hopefully help me get my head out of my ass.

It's come down to it now, the block is going to come out of the truck since the rod bearing is shot on the middle cylinder. I now have the hoist and will hopefully have the thing out today. The waves of frustration and depression keep washing over me but then it rolls into a determination as I focus. I really hope the crank is still good.

After ANOTHER fucking repair on the car I think it may be okay for a while... but shit just keeps popping up every time I turn around. This time the metal transmission fluid cooler line got a hole in it so I swapped the metal lines for hose.
Got to see Duncan Trussell at Spokane Comedy and ended up getting seated front and center. Duncan is not a crowd work guy so it was just the closest possible to watch from. Super good set after a good evening out.

After the predawn grain run I picked up the new starter at AutoZone and got it installed in the car which now works again. My Dad is the master of porting and polishing engine heads so I had picked up a few things from him over the years which made it go pretty smoothly. The second head is off and I will do the same to it today.
This evening we get to go see Duncan Trussel at Spokane Comedy. Pretty excited sor it.

I can't seem to win for losing. Went to take boys to town for one's dentist appointment and found the starter on the car is now dead. The solenoid works but the motor is toast.

They are in stock in town so I will go get a new one today and install it first thing. Needless to say he missed his appointment.
I'm trying to get a new LN wallet setup so I can actually receive zaps again due to the one I use now not accepting lower than 50 sats. I've not figured out how to make a reliable fixed ip with us on Starlink so am not running my own node.

More rain made for a lot of house work and less outside work yesterday. I did manage to get out after it had passed and dug some more of the raspberry plague from the greenhouse. The patch will end up moved eventually so this won't keep happening each year.
At least it isn't raining today so I might get something done in the gardens.

Too warm #skiing on the mountain yesterday, at least for how we dressed and the wax on our skiis. After watching the NEW GREAT ONE score his record goal we got in a couple hours on the slopes. 4 runs was all and at times we had to work to go downhill, but at least the hardest runs were more like a moderate. It was 62F when we left to head home.
My #Garlic is growing wonderfully and is looking like almost every single one grew so I have over 1000 that will hopefully give me nice fat bulbs in a few months. I'm looking forward to the massive number of scapes as well.

Not the way he wanted to end the season, and I'm none too happy since it was due to an illegal move, AGAIN! This time he got a mild concussion. Trapped Arm Mat Return has been phased out for years due to this exact reason, injuries. He is doing okay but I'm just hoping this hasn't killed his stoke for the sport.

Great morning on the slopes yesterday. The groomers were buttery and quite fast. I managed a 57.2mph top speed with some sustained 50+ sections. Spring conditions can be really fun even if the trees are not in good conditions.
Finished the burn pile in the afternoon and am getting the debris around the farm dealt with better now. Still tons to burn but much of that is on the hill still.

I was at highway speed so only got the momentary view but I focused on it very distinctly. It was a black mass on the pole but very much an owl.
Super cool. Yesterday morning before dawn I was on my way home from town and saw a great horned sitting on one of the street lights looking at the slim glow of the sun to the east over the mountains.
