Super cool. Yesterday morning before dawn I was on my way home from town and saw a great horned sitting on one of the street lights looking at the slim glow of the sun to the east over the mountains.
That’s a good sign. Saw a moose today. It was nice to see an old friend.
I hope it was. He was in no rush to leave.
I haven't seen a moose in ages, despite being right in the middle of a nursery.

Haha, I meant a moose nursery. There's a few that have taken up early child rearing along the river here. The owl was very chill, I even talked to it while taking pictures. I think a genuine minute passed before it flew away.
Very cool. One of my sons loves owls. He’s only ever seen them at the zoo but is always getting me to read him books about them.
I can remember having a similar moment with a fox. I was sitting outside of my tent watching the sun set, there was no one else around, and fox came up and sat directly in front of me. We sat together for what felt like five minutes just chatting. He didn’t move, just cocked his head and levelled his head eyes at me and listened to me ramble on and tell him stories.
It looks to be a short-eared owl. Very cool!
