hopescrolling web🍰

are you overflowing with indescribable sorrow?

node runners should write a script that takes incoming routing transactions, scrapes some predefined source of randomness from them, maps that to ad libs for a shitpost prompt for ChatGPT, and postrs the output on nostr.

because THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is *where the yield comes from* 😉

yeah but web5 is obviously a joke whereas this is deadly serious.

ffs Pablo go read our DMs again, we talked about this 😤

it’s always been irrational so may as well make it official.

not just, my friend! it’s also a transcendental number which is far more exclusive, interesting, and exciting!

thrilled to announce - and in a nostr exclusive at that 🤙 fuck the bird app - that #[0] and I have come up with the perfect description of what we are all doing here.

we are building webπ

(or web🍰 if you prefer)

***

why π?

well, it’s fundamental.

it’s transcendental.

its transcendence proves you can’t square the circle, which nicely captures what web3 is trying to do.

it contains all the information in the world.

but most importantly … it’s *just a little* more than 3.

webπ > web3

that’s just math. and I’m a mathematician 🤓

see below for Pablo’s much more thorough and technical writeup, complete with graphical explanation.

that’s what she said.

Q1: “welcome, your highness, the god empress. are you aware we worship you and I mention your book every single day for the past 3 years to absolutely anybody who will listen and many people who have no choice but to listen? this is the only question so please be as open-ended as you like with your answer.”

live in the woods so you’re not tempted.

I can think of 2 mutually exclusive reasons this might not be true:

1) it would be for trivial amounts so it would obviously just be fun and very much in the open source spirit.

2) it wouldn’t be trivial, but you’d see the interaction stats with people you’d have to assume had already decrypted it so there is a bit of a quality signal there, albeit shrouded in intrigue.

yeah it wasn’t so much “wrong” or even “objectionable” as like simple and dumb. It was as if (and probably was literally the case that) they took a bunch of their academic research, dumbed it down for a popular audience, but lost track of the dumbing down and went way overboard.
