Sparrow is a tool to use the HW wallet. I see no need to move the funds on the HW wallet?

Correct. Any funds that are on the Ledger will also show up in Sparrow. No need to create a whole new wallet. Your device just signs transactions.

I understand ledger does the same thing thru a bridge called satstack

Is that in their Ledger Live application? Sparrow wallet has the benefit of being open source and it has great self custody and privacy features.

Sparrow wallet is a good option on desktop. This will connect to your node over tor or straight from bitcoin core if you have that running on your machine.
