I was surprised to see that Dr. Geert Vanden Bossche still stands behind his doomsday #Covid19 prediction. If he ends up being right then, he would have been wrong twice (at least in his timing). His argumentation is sound enough for me to be attentive to what he’s saying. I’m not aware of anyone else supporting his thesis publicly though. Fingers crossed that he’ll be wrong again. #Covid #CovidVaccine #Pandemic #Bossche https://rumble.com/v38xtlm-is-a-deadlier-pandemic-on-the-horizon.html
I’m surely not going to wait for the legislators to bring back the #gold standard (which likely won’t happen). Also, why going back to backing the greenback with gold when we have the #goldback which makes gold spendable? I don’t particularly like the idea of Americans dropping the dollar in mass for another competing currency due to the adversarial environment western countries faced with the #BRICS, but what other sound option is left for the people to adopt? Of course for digital transactions #Bitcoin is the king. https://www.zerohedge.com/political/efforts-protect-us-intensify-amid-global-shift-dollar
According to a survey conducted on the Proof-of-Personhood (one human = one vote) #blockchain called #Idena, almost a third of respondents would be favorable for #Bitcoin to switch to Proof-of-Stake if the coinbase was redistributed to stakers. Two-thirds would want to keep Proof-of-Work.
What do you think?

Today, your #BTC have utility because you’re allowed to off-ramp to fiat. However, imagine a future scenario where off-ramp to fiat is only allowed from addresses that have gone through #KYC. Would you find as much utility in #Bitcoin? Are you betting that the network of goods and services that will accept BTC as a mean of payment will grow as a consequence of these regulations being rolled out? Or, are you unaware of such a scenario taking place? What’s your plan if BTC/fiat off-ramp is limited to approved KYCed addresses? #Crypto
I would imagine that #BlackRock would have started to buy before May 2023 though…
Goldbacks are great though. #Goldback makes gold spendable.
Are they going to run the same tape all over again? Will people comply like last time? #Covid19 #AlexJones https://www.zerohedge.com/covid-19/its-really-happening-mask-mandates-contact-tracing-re-implemented-colleges-offices
Have people stopped using ordinals on Monero? If so, why is that?
Agree, although I have found extremely challenging to onboard new people to #crypto (everybody has heard of it). I prefer to focus on helping current users to have better security/privacy practices. New people will onboard to crypto only if they understand the flaws of the current monetary system and the imminent risk of #CBDC. Also, I find #Goldback to be a great conversion starter (you can easily tip someone who has never heard of it) and a potential gateway to crypto.
I’m not sure how Monero devs is more or less centralized than Bitcoin devs. I wouldn’t call all blockchains with a pre-mine a scam but it certainly reduces the decentralization and impact the store of value properties.
Monero devs are well aware that ring signatures is the weak link in Monero privacy and they are working on implementing full membership proof. Also, that doesn’t mean that current Monero privacy is trash but there are limitations that are certainly not known to the regular user (like when receiving and sending XMR from/to the same person) and undermine Monero value proposition (foolproof privacy).
The challenges faced by sex workers to off-ramp their #crypto into fiat is a warning sign to all those who believe that #Bitcoin and the #crypto industry at large is an insurance policy against the coming #CBDC rollouts. Sooner than later we need crypto to be usable and largely adopted as a medium of exchange. https://www.wired.com/story/sex-workers-crypto-failing-them/
Your custodial wallet can. Maybe you don’t use a custodial wallet in which case you’re part of the 0.01% who can run a #lightning node. #Monero has good layer 1 #privacy and has plans to improve it. In general, I think it’s dumb to qualify other #crypto as shitcoins (although there isn’t a shortage of scams and bad projects) but calling Monero one is either disingenuous or ignorant.
I refuse to ever post a message again on #Twitter #X since my account was banned. That didn’t stop me from sharing my thoughts to the World. #Nostr fixes this!
The monetary apartheid is coming: « Buying at the top of the 2021 cycle now looked like a rounding error, thank god. » #Bitcoin #CBDC #BTC
Seriously? They don’t ask about gender?!
How to fight the #CBDC? Just say to your friends, customers or employers that you don’t accept them as a method of payment. Instead, accept #cash, #crypto or #goldback. If there are enough of us, it will lower the acceptance of CBDCs to a degree that may be detrimental to its success.
Interesting, I’ve been using Brave for quite some time but I had to give up on it because the results seem quite biased (like on Google and Bing). From my experience, it’s good for a quick « how to » search but not to research topics in depth. I know Metager is an aggregator but somehow I’ve found the results to be more diverse. Obviously I like the idea of Brave building their own index but so far it hasn’t been translated in actual benefits. What do you think of presearch? I’ve been using it for some time but stop using it because I’ve read their privacy wasn’t great (although I. Haven’t looked into the specifics).
My choice n1 -> http://metager.org/
#Brave search is quite disappointing actually. The results aren’t much different that the ones returned by #Google or #Bing and there are rarely more than 2 pages of results shown… Try http://metager.org/ instead. #SearchEngine #Tech
