what book have you read that you loved, that no one else talks about?

I was lurking here for a bit and not contributing much. But would doom scroll reels on IG and about a week ago I was like “WTF am I doing?” and had a whole come to Jesus moment realizing I should be on nostr and get rid of these nasty legacy socials. So I did it. Nostr only now.

Feels much better and more honest even though in a way I also feel like I’m starting over. But as a Bitcoiner it just feels wrong to be elsewhere had to admit it to myself.

You are using language in a loose, metaphorical way while insisting that accurate language is a "semantic game".

Bitcoin does not exist. There are no Bitcoins. That is literally and indisputably true.

What does exist is human beings and computer equipment.

So to speak in a strictly factual way, you should not even claim that Bitcoin is money. You should say that INSTEAD of paying me money it is better (for me, somehow) if you mark in your computer equipment that I am owed a credit. That's a statement that corresponds to entities that actually exist and relations between them. Saying "Bitcoin is money" is a relationship of concepts, one of which does not refer to any physically existing thing at all.

I don't buy the "clay feet" argument. Everyone claimed Russia was overstretched and heading for collapse just days or max weeks after the invasion began—yet here we are.

Russia doesn't need massive military power to destabilize Europe. It simply needs to amplify the already present tensions and divisions. How difficult is it to still push the Green Deal? Or remind second-generation immigrants in France about Libya and Mali? Or convince eastern Germans they're second-class citizens, unfairly sidelined as AfD remains isolated behind a cordon sanitaire? How much does the UK need to implode on its own?

Once internal turmoil consumes Europe, who will have attention or energy left for the Baltics? Who will listen to Poland's concerns or watch election results in Slovakia?

Unless the EU drastically changes course—something I don't foresee—I believe it's doomed to endless meetings, empty resolutions, bureaucracy, and economic stagnation or worse.

But to suggest we would be better under Russian influence is utterly absurd. After all, how well did that work out the last time we were within Russia's sphere of influence?
