Awesome!!!

We're living Atlas Shrugged. Don't make everyone else look bad.

Had this happen personally too. Back in the day, before computers were an everyday part of school. I got a laptop for my last year of high school and used I to finish class assignments over lunch. The teacher would tell me to hand it in after the weekend. πŸ˜†

Good to see some more work going on to prepare for the future. Proactive not reactive.

In a post published Tuesday, Signal Foundation CTO Ehren Kret wrote:

"We believe that the key encapsulation mechanism we have selected, CRYSTALS-Kyber, is built on solid foundations, but to be safe we do not want to simply replace our existing elliptic curve cryptography foundations with a post-quantum public key cryptosystem. Instead, we are augmenting our existing cryptosystems such that an attacker must break both systems in order to compute the keys protecting people’s communications.

The essence of our protocol upgrade from X3DH to PQXDH is to compute a shared secret, data known only to the parties involved in a private communication session, using both the elliptic curve key agreement protocol X25519 and the post-quantum key encapsulation mechanism CRYSTALS-Kyber. We then combine these two shared secrets together so that any attacker must break both X25519 and CRYSTALS-Kyber to compute the same shared secret."

Depending on the year of the car, your block heater will only turn on after a certain temperature (check the manual or block heater cord if it has a tag on it). That's will minimizing energy usage and just turning the heater on when it's needed.

Since your using synthetic oil you can probably leave the block heater unplugged until it gets down to around -20C. I have synthetic oil in my work truck (gas) and only plug it in when it gets down closer to -30C. You may have to play with it a bit.

Other options are to get a timer that just starts the block heater a few hours before you leave. Even better you can get a smarthome plug that you can program to turn on when the temp reaches a certain temperature or time.

I was running into RAM/Swap issues. Moved to Optiplex Mini 16GB RAM with SSD drive instead of 4GB + onboard eMMC (Stopped using SD card after the first card issues) and turned off swap to reduce wear and it's been running very well since.

Raspi should still be ok if you have 8GB. Found I ended up having to run a very limited app loadout on the 4GB.

DUMP YOUR RASPI NODES. Get a used mini PC or used laptop for cheap!

More powerful, only $45-75 on eBay (plus ~$65 2TB ssd, but you'd need that anyway for your Raspi node).

This HP EliteDesk 705 G4 is **overkill** for a node. 5 yrs old. Costs $75*.

Fan noise? Meh. Power draw? CPU's max draw is 35W.

Once it's done syncing, the video can't even pick up the fan running at idling speeds:

https://m.primal.net/HLsE.mp4

Cost to run:

15W * 24hrs / 1000W/kW * 12Β’/kWh * 30 days = $1.30/mo

This cpu is 8.5x more powerful than a Raspi4.

A more pleb-friendly option is a used laptop. Has everything you need built-in (esp the BATTERY!!! Huge advantage vs Raspi). This HP ProBook 450 G3 is running an 8yr old i5-6200U (3.5x more powerful than a Raspi4). Also super-quiet and low power (15W max cpu draw).

Yes. Went to a OptiPlex (16GB) and it's been great! UPS for power backup.

Really needs to be a Recipestr site hah. Looks good and also like it took a bit of effort to stand everything up.

Trying to reduce seed oil intake? Canadians can check out HardBite chips made with avocado oil instead of seed oils. The chips taste good and they have a few different flavours. Look for the bags with the AVO logo, as they still sell some with sunflower/canola.

Eye opening. I like seeing stories from all over the world about the locals, especially when people are finding bitcoin to save and transact in. Thanks for making these videos nostr:npub1lr2zzf989mvf393y0tv39ara6a4vddkd6y87z784up9vl6ks6j3qtudl6a and Cointelegraph.

I've seen a few shipcoin bot accounts, but they're now blocked.
