I had the same issue with Primal.net and my Nostr relay on Umbrel. I use Brave and through the developer tools I saw that Brave only allows secure websockets, so no ws:// just wss://. If you want to use wss:// via Tailscale you have to use a certificate but then your ip address will get into a public dns server, I didn't do that.
Your Nostr relay does allow you to sync from public relays (I had 4, which I can't change) to get your history in. If I then connect my Nostr client through 1 of those 4 then everything is synced without Tailscale. Maybe this is not what you were looking for but I hope it helps
I used a signer extension for the first time today, I had also question marks. I'm on the waiting list for Alby but tried nos2x on the recommendation of nostr:npub1ehkvx8rdjsrwnf7kkqr8gy42vcwe6vwgqdwrl4juqccp689v8wfqr3mz4s. Works well! Basic interface but it does what it needs to do. As you know, I use Brave ;-)
Logged in for the first time to a few other Nostr clients with nos2x. This is all so cool. Now I have to go try every app from nostrapps.com 🙂 Still a lot to learn

Had a casual conversation at a cafe last weekend. The person did not understand me when I said “I would rather wake up tomorrow with Bitcoin at 10k than at 100k, that way I can buy more”. I could see in his eyes that he really did not believe me, he actually looked down on me. At least we were talking about Bitcoin, which is good

Yes, ssd. Was also amazed that it was so fast. Used to run bitcoin core on my desktop with hdd but that was significantly slower to sync
