Ugh that should be huge news, doesn’t even seem believable

The polypore seemed firm, not sure how the chanterelles will turn out. They felt a lil mushy

Also a bay leaf, a sprig of thyme & garlic.

It’s meant to be eaten with salads, charcuterie. Probably would be good with anything sauerkraut would pair with.

Apparently the Slavs like to eat these straight with a bottle of vodka

I’ll let you know in a week or two how they are

First attempt at salting mushrooms.

Chanterelles, Berkeley’s Polypore & 1 peppery milk cap for spice in here

I’ll soon be ur frendly nostr expert on snail farming

Same, we had 2 back-to-back hurricanes. There are new things out everyday

Hmmm it could be that. It’s either that or boletus separans, I think. The only thing that doesn’t quite match on the tylopilus is the stem color

There’s so many boletes, I’m no expert but love the shrooms. The fact that it’s not bitter and doesn’t stain blue is good. Hope this helps

Ha I’m literally on that website right now! And yeah it passes all my edibility filters, gonna try a bite in a minute

Any bolete experts out there? I’m trying to determine the species here, but boletes are so difficult.

Pores are a very light pink color, cap solid brown. Stem has slight netting where fertile surface meets the stem, white stem fades to a deep purple near the base. No cutting reactions, nor slicing reactions, mushroom does bruise reddish/brown after a few hours. Taste (taste & spit) is a mild nutty flavor. Spore print is also brownish/reddish.

Mushroom was growing near the forest edge on the ground around a few large maples & poplars.

Oh yeah, I’ve never tried them cause I’ve never found them but they’re supposed to be choice edibles
