Today we talked about search note15djknj3kh6szcj82pp6sm98vk3pw40fg8ajsx8mrpfg3zadyeqhqfmsl2n, what about language filtering (that can be a search params, too)? Nostr now is english centric, but with the progressive expansion a language filter will help newcomers to discover new content and raise the signal-noise ratio.
I found this PR about the matter https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/pull/182 by #[0] and I think the tag is the right approach, because can be used on other kind types, if needed.
Ideas?
yeah i think it would be nice for users to have specific language feeds as well. or if multi lingual, have the ability to push one language to one relay for broadcasting, and another language to another relay
nah. just bc elon fired them doesn't make them valuable.
what if people who speak a language other than english don't want garbage translations dominating their feed?

It looks like Markdown was added to Damus just so links could be made clickable (the same reason I've stupidly added a Markdown parser to branle an year ago and it bubbled up to Astral), and someone there is working on removing it: https://github.com/damus-io/damus/pull/301

no relays aren't blocking new posts that I know of. I think theres just delay sometimes, or the relay already has the event but it just wasn't seen by astral/your session. I'll try to refine this section more.
also if you reply to an event astral will automatically re-publish that
you can publish to individual relays using the relay list (in the option menu of each post). probably could be made more intuitive.
imo security (in this case minimal bad actors) still is more important than speed.
agree pay for relay will work. but still want a free/non lightning option.

personally i think its bc all our known forms of coordination for blocking bad actors relies on centralized methods. this is the one reason I really think pow should be tried, its the only form of coordination for blocking bad actors that i know of that is decentralized.
how patient are you being? does it load and then not work properly? or not load at all?
sounds good! yeah astral doesn't work in safari at all, apparently safari doesn't support nested webworkers. plus anyone with iphone would prob prefer damus.
you using safari or chrome? I don't have iphone so astral is completely untested there
I wouldn't say 'well' but it 'works'. UI can still be a big unresponsive at times. only tested on android though.
works best if you dl it as pwa web app (on chrome/firefox there should be a popup asking if you want to dl when opening astral)
there won't be formatting. I can still parse the plain text into links and stuff. the add link section in post entry (i thought you had said you used it...)
