If you ever wondered whether or not the Twitter algorithm was actually affecting your mood or influencing your behavior, just look at Nostr.

I see numerous posts daily saying how much more calm it is here or that they chose a peaceful reply to something annoying or not to reply at all.

I also see many posts expressing relief that there are few posts about politics and how nice it is to not see invasive advertisements.

Some time ago I posted on Twitter that once a viable alternative arrived, that I would move. Mastodon never really caught on and it’s structure is actually very centralized with instance operators banning others deemed unacceptable.

Nostr feels like home and it is the only thing since Bitcoin that has gotten me really excited for what is possible and gives me hope that we can build a future together worth living in.

Nostr culture is rooted in Bitcoin maximalism's, so he's delusional, or actually passive aggressive, or trolling, if he thinks that his "solution" that involves running a stacks node and a stacks smart contract is going to be accepted with open arms.

i would love to find it. i was looking on nostr.guru but i don't see a lot of my events there. this change would have happened most likely 6-8 hours ago?

I had something very odd happen to me this morning and I don't know what to make of it just yet. My Lightning Address was different on some clients. To me on Snort, it still showed as pay@derekross.me, but that could have been cache. On Damus, Astral, and metadata.nostr.com it was an LNURL address that resolved to LNBits.com. I don't use LNBits.com.

This morning I used a new client, Ananostr.com by #[0] right around that time that I noticed the change. However, I used the nos2x extension as I always do.

I mostly only use Snort and Astral on my desktop, though I have used iris.to a few times.

On my phone, I use Amethyst, but I've also used Daisy with my private key. All of the other Android clients I tested were used with a burner key.

Hrm. I am very, very confused right now.

I think it makes the most economic sense for there to be specialized relays specifically language specific relays, but there's nothing keeping both from existing (except that maybe nonspecialized relays might go broke or switch to being paid services but I think we're moving towards paid relays or friend hosted relays either way)

but for those that got let go from Twitter, the ones that supported more voices being heard and were against the censorship and government influence that was taking place, we should be reaching out to them to come work on nostr, existing clients, micro apps, and bounties.

Oh so we're still talking about relay filtering then and not actually client side filtering. Yeah alright memorization can help there then.

no the argument is that every note relayed to the user would already have lang === english. bc the client uses '["#l","en"]' query filter which means relays only send back posts with language tag of english.

You still have to do

if lang == english

return note

else

#implicitely drop the note

But I guess the argument is supposed to be that this check for every single note relayed to the user isn't significant enough to have noticeable performance issues for the user....
