How is this different than any social contract? If you have money to donate, and I want some, I can’t be a dick to you and hope you award me.

The people on the board have shown the ability to have open debate and receive challenges to their ideas.

You make claims that they are pressuring people, but if it is only implicit, then it seems like they’re acting like every other social interaction. Do great work and don’t be a jerk.

Right. A grant gets the project off the ground. Think of it as no-equity angel funding. Prove the idea and go for VC funding from there if that’s the best route. I believe this is the Spiral approach with their 1-year grants. Use it for liftoff, then find a viable path from there.

And I agree, V4V is not sustainable for most projects. Some grants have been for small projects, middleware, which wouldn’t ever become full businesses. V4V could help.

My #carnivore friends. What tests do you find valuable for measuring health on this diet?

I have history of cardiovascular disease in my family. Life ending heart attacks.

One recommended test was Calcium Score Heart Scan. Is that worth it?

What else?

Can we get more info to back up these claims?

The grants are supposedly no strings attached. I haven’t seen a contract that a recipient might have to sign, so can’t substantiate.

The grant recipients I’m aware of all have proof of work in the open. I know that some people ask for too much money in their grant proposal and get turned down. The size of awarded grants I’m aware of have been smaller than I would expect. I think they’re trying to make the money impact as many devs as possible, rather than concentrating it.

As for one-off grants that get projects killed, not following that logic completely. A project receiving a grant needs to show it can deliver on its goals. If there is a need for the project, there should be money out there from grants, v4v, VC, or hopefully standing up a way to create a revenue stream with the project.

I’ve always had the impression that most grants were a launch pad, not a sustainable fuel source.

I worked on a real-time audio service for years. Can attest that milliseconds matter. Keep fighting the good fight.

There is a fairly exhaustive list here:

https://rssblue.com/music

RSS Blue is merely one option among many, but all the options listed here allow you full control over your value splits

Dovydas is the person who runs RSSBlue and they are awesome. Pushes out new features constantly that adopt the Podcasting 2.0 ideas and responds to emails quickly. 5 stars, recommend, would stay here again.

Game over, meat-eating men. #carnivore #plants #vegan

And the zaps. Did we really zap 2100 sats to people because they posted a dank meme? That will be a ton of money or nothing.

Happy #Zappy21st! Excited to try this out more. Zapped. ⚡️ nostr:note1qd3qt47l6qvl44atl42pykmf3ele5vqlas347re4q26mr6f0hyfq7wucen

We keep a giant coloring book in the car that is there for them when they want it. We also play car games like guess the song, where we play music they know and see who can name it first.

Boys can’t color? Not sure I follow your comment.
