Core v30 is a classic case of “the cover-up is worse than the crime.”

Instead of listening to node operators and holding off on the contentious OP_RETURN increase, Core is forcing through a change almost nobody except spammers wants.

This signals a deeper governance problem inside Core, beyond just v30.

Thankfully, you can run Knots or older versions of Core. New clients are likely to emerge and gain traction too.

The difference between email spam/internet ads versus spam on Bitcoin is that the marginal cost of the former is zero and the latter is not.
