Experiencing the change from city to country life. All zaps received will be recycled to fellow #nostriches

All good. I just wanted to make sure you had another post in your back pocket for when it smashes through ATH in the coming months.

Thanks! I still

Have to put a finish on it and then it can take its place in the front hall.

Proof of work:

Any debate that Arthur C. Clarke and Carl Sagan we’re the greatest futurists of the 20th Century?

Trying hard not to poke my eardrums out listening to the unchained podcast interview with Aaron Kaplan from Promethium.

He is the smarmiest person I have heard speak since Jay Lefler in high school.

I am more of an everything in moderation kind of guy. I did substitute sugar for Agave years ago but will eat home baked good with sugar.

I like having a coffee and a beer and can’t see stopping that.

How do you feel those items in moderation are causing you harm?

I love this time of year when you can see the crops coming up in their perfect rows.

I saw that post. I think he was trying to refer to the decline in purchasing power of the USD?? Not sure why he added ‘overnight’.

That old, tight wood is gone for good from commercial stock. The only way to get your hands on it now is to mill it yourself.

The new wood is fine for construction, but I still like to some of my own harvested wood in my projects.

Thanks! It’s been a fun project - learning framing, electrical, plumbing, etc.

Just finished the cladding in the change room of the cabana. First time project for me and I’m pretty happy with how it finished up.

Turns out that the two locations I generally connect to are not liked by Google. Changed to a different location and it’s working now. Who knew!

Cool that they were so influential in the evolution of fighting.

No, never tried it. I have always been very focussed on destination A to B activities - long canoe trips and kayaking. I did judo as a kid and liked it.

I live on a farm so I generally have a physical day. And I also wear a belt :-)

nostr:npub16vrkgd28wq6n0h77lqgu8h4fdu0eapxgyj0zqq6ngfvjf2vs3nuq5mp2va - I don’t follow Brazilian Jiu Jitsu but back when the UFC started my favourite part was discovering the Gracie family.

It was amazing to watch a relatively small man grapple a muscle-bound giant into submission.

Today there is no place for this type of specialization in UFC.

Is the Gracie family still legendary in competition? Is there a next generation who is top of the sport?
