I just added the nostr news network to diversify my feed...
However afterwards the feed was only them. So I had to unfollow them
Is there a way to have multiple feeds in tabs, compared to x... Foryou/following..?
Welcome..... We have been waiting for you
unexpected keyboard looks promising and is on trial right now. would have zapped you if i could...
One of the real costs of privacy is convenience.
It's not easy to give up the UI/UX of Google and Apple products for hardwares and softwares like nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll, nostr:npub1235tem4hfn34edqh8hxfja9amty73998f0eagnuu4zm423s9e8ksdg0ht5 and Linux (all three which are great).
Once you take the bold and liberating step, the feeling is kind of the same as having a kid. You won't really know how awesome it is until you do it.
I can See that others are in thebsame journey....
So let me follow some new birds
Yeah its an adventure.... Within two weeks I will now for the third time have to unbind and bind a device to certain 2FA featured apps..... What a headache. And at the same time flipping over all my logins away from outlook and google.... While changing passwords to far more secure ones due to long heritage of negligence and complacency...
I think we will for sure come back... Maybe one day Malaysia's my second home program may be suitable for me and my family.....
In got introduced to nasi lemak..... What is nasi kandar?
Just visited malaysia last month... we really loved it.
Please apologize my previous typing errors, using these open source keyboard apps with my different language settings sometimes come with their downside....
So for my odyssey away from the magnificent, here are my current pics:
1. Grapheneos OS smartphone
2. Vanadium mobile browser
3. Brave Desktop browser, brave search
4. Proton Mail suite
5. Libre office for MS office products
6. Nostr for twitter
7. Bitcoin for finance
8. Linux mint for desktop (LMDE?)
9. Umbrel or start9 for home server?
10. Signal & threema for messaging
There are several open questions as I am new to most things here...
After finishing the phone setup, I will wipe the desktop. Lastly over the next 6 months I hope to setup the home server. Here I think of an master slave mirrored system with different locations (if one house burns down...)
Any thoughts on it? Feel free to confuse me further (this tech stuff is also a deep rabbit hole)
Could not wait..... So now graphene is running. And the goal is to have zero meta, google, apple,Microsoft running on this phone and going with Foss solutions....
Further down the line I will alaonswitch my home computer to Linux and want to set upann brel or alike system for self hosting my data....
I not as nerdy as it sounds like.... but I want to try out life this way. any recommendations from the cmunity, please let me hear your thoughts!
Haha OK I think there is work to be done π€£ππ
And now I also find the private bookmark.... Thanks brother!ππ€£π
I am using amethyst....
Yeah this seems to be the consensus here... I already wrapping it up.... And preparing to wipe the device and try the grapheme
Just a nuisance is unhinging certain 2fa apps.... Bit planning to reset it until sunday
I have no clue how to bookmark this article so I will try it by "retweeting" so that I can access it later....
Eveythingbhas massively improved over the last year but I am still highly confused.

Wa aleikum alsalam! I am recent convert and happy to follow you. Unfortunately living in a highly unislamic country... So I am happy to meet you and read your content!
Saw a video where they said grapheme just anonymized data and sanboxes stuff whyle calyx gets rid of all the google.... Sounded compelling but I might be wrong or mislead... And also not that deeply knowledge about the differences
GrapheneOS and CalyxOS are very different. GrapheneOS is a hardened OS with substantial privacy/security improvements:
grapheneos.org/features
CalyxOS is not a hardened OS. It greatly reduces security vs. AOSP via added attack surface, rolled back security and slow patches.
Compatibility with Android apps is also much different. GrapheneOS provides our sandboxed Google Play compatibility layer:
grapheneos.org/usage#sandboxeβ¦
Can run vast majority of Play Store apps on GrapheneOS, but not CalyxOS with the far more limited and less secure microG approach.
https://eylenburg.github.io/android_comparison.htm is a third party comparison between different alternate mobile operating systems. It could include many more privacy/security features but it's a good starting point.
https://privsec.dev/posts/android/choosing-your-android-based-operating-system/ is an article with more long form comparisons between OSes.
Thanks so much for your insight... I all look into it.... After all I am open to switch.....
Got it... But I just bought the pixel8pro on discount to degoogle a phone (ironic) and chose calyxos..... Was just interested in opinion on the choice between calyxos and grapheme...
Is there a way to also have other than bitcoin content...? Seems like this is not a too diverse biotope
