My state school education wasn't great but I did learn basic math & how to read & write which I have found to be quite useful. I think that when I was in school was probably a lot better thanit is today though. It seems politics, culture wars, & teachers unions have become more important than giving kids a decent education.

Sure if that's what you think that's fine. I have my doubts Saylor is in cahoots with the government that makes zero sense especially over a currency he has said over & over again is losing it's value. Even if he was championing bitcoin as the new reserve currency of the world it won't happen until bitcoin can scale. Onchain transactions cannot be used for day to day use and Lightning is nowhere close to ready for the world to use instead of dollars or stablecoins.

What he says just makes sense, and stablecoins are far more practical at the moment for daily transacting that anything bitcoin currently has to offer which is why people in high inflation countries use them. The government can't "hook the world" onto something that is constantly losing its value particularly if that value starts to decrease at a faster rate but bitcoin currently isn't ready to replace the dollar for daily use by the world, it just isn't.

If the SEC had it's way we would still be without the ETF's. I imagine in the next 12 months in-kind redemption will be allowed.

What proof is there that Dittman is Elon? Not saying he isn't but also don't want to get caught up in some bizzare story that we jump onto & find there's no truth to it and we are a bunch of gullible fuckwits. I like the photo of him carrying the kid though. Hopefully Dittman isn't Elon.

I think it's a strategic move. He is very clear about the continual debasement of the dollar, he knows it has a limited life although it could be decades yet. To come out & publicly as he does and promote bitcoin as a currency to replace the dollar would create an awful lot of pushback I believe. There's institutional adoption happening that is undeniably a result of his bitcoin moves & I suspect the ETF's might not have happened this year without him . I think we'll all come to appreciate Saylor in the years to come, he's positive for bitcoin even if we don't agree with him on everything

Just gave him a quick listen. He brought Steve Earle to mind. Different, but there's something about him that reminds me of Earle.

Yeah I'm curious about this. But suppose in the future the IRS requires exchanges to report every sale of bitcoin to their customers? Could that be possible? Even though you are hodling & incurring no profit or loss your bitcoin purchases will still be reported & you haven't provided them with your holdings. My guess is your strategy will be reasonably safe if you don't buy anymore btc starting Jan 1st when the new rules take effect. I could be completely wrong of course

I've been doing time restricting eating for a couple of months & I'm really good but this morning without thinking I ate some dried apple as I had just dehydrated a bunch of them. The habit of eating whenever food is front of you is very strong. But as I say I'm generally good and even though I get hungry some mornings I never eat before midday & I'm usually awake befor 5:30am. It feels good.

Reminds me of the time David Blaine the illusionist staged a stunt in London years ago. He spent weeks in a glass box without food suspended way above ground. After a while someone got a remote toy helicopter and strapped a Mcdonals box with a hamburger in it and flew it around Blaine in his glass box. Fucking funny 😂

It's going to happen, and besides let the plebs around the world have the bitcoin, I don't know why you want the fucking government to stack it other than to pump your bags. Fuck the government let the people have the bitcoin, that's who it was created for.

Takes a lot of time & not all developers can afford to do that, they need to get paid.

Wait til they start taxing our zaps!

If you have a crypto wallet that lets you swap one altcoin for another altcoin or a stablecoin or bitcoin then the maker of that wallet has to report your transactions to the IRS. Even if the wallet provider doesn't hold any of the coins being transferred at all they will still need to report the transactions to the IRS & issue you a 1099 tax form.
