Nostr is already opaque and confusing enough for normal users to get on board with, and now we’re talking about whether certain apps should be called “clients” or “mirrors” or whatever. Nobody normal cares about obscure shit like this, or how clients work behind the scenes. Give them access to the network, let the network effect do the work.

My Ledger Nano S Plus just crashed and factory reset itself while signing a transaction.

A friendly reminder to make sure you have a robust backup of your seed phrase.

I wonder if there is something around networks of relay operators banding together, with users subscribing to the relays in the network and paying the network itself for access (rather than relay operators directly). The network could then distribute payments to the operators.

Tinkering with using elixir to build a personal relay to run on my umbrel that multiplexes “real” relays, to reduce the load on mobile Nostr client. Mainly just an excuse to learn https://elixir-lang.org though.

Take a second hardware wallet, reset it, enter in the seed phrase during initialisation, check it can access the wallet / generate the same addresses. Seed never goes online.
