One of the most important things I did throughout the first decade and a half of my career was say "yes" to almost everything. I always erred on the side of leaning in, doing more, expanding the number of things I'm doing, etc. It created a stressful flood of over-work, but it also expanded my connections and capabilities dramatically and was worth it.

But it's also important to know when things are filled up. When too much expansion turns into lack of focus. When quantity gets in the way of quality. Eventually the number of requests became too much, so I started having to say "no" more. My default was always yes, so it took time to learn how to say no.

Going forward, I plan to get better at saying no, and to rein in my focus toward a smaller set of things. I'll still be doing quite a lot, but sometimes the stillness between actions is just as important as the actions themselves. It makes those actions more deliberate and impactful when they occur. Quality over quantity. Focus over expansion.

A wise friend told me many years ago: "It's not what's on your plate--it's how you prioritize what's on your plate."

I am no expert but I think you are just wrong.

I am finding claims online that fats are metabolized into acetyl-CoA which produces ATP via the Krebs cycle.

Consequently, I think glucose is not essential even for the production of ATP.

See for example wiki's introductory paragraph claiming that fats can provide the fuel for the Kreb's cycle: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citric_acid_cycle

So the initial steps prior to the Kreb's cycle occurs when glucose is metabolized to pyruvate, and then pyruvate is metabolized to acetyl CoA, and that is then used in the Kreb's cycle.

IIRC you get a total of 38 ATP per glucose molecule metabolized via the Kreb's cycle...but it's been a while... 😃

There are some alternative pathways (e.g. via ketones) but those typically only are leveraged in extreme circumstances (such as starvation).

However, the typical pathway for cellular respiration leverages glucose.

I understand you. But I think you don’t have to be too worried. With the legalization, we have the ability to end it as a taboo topic and finally educate especially the younger folks about it instead of pushing the topic away everytime it comes up because it’s unnormal. Not only it’s a step towards freedom, it’s a step to more safety.

That’s why I said, there is hope.

Frankly it's not safe, simply from a smoking standpoint (why is tobacco considered unhealthy, yet smoking marijuana is perfectly fine?)

Second, there's the issue of people driving under the influence - and that's becoming increasingly prevalent.

I'll say it again--pharmaceuticals are not the answer.

„Gateway drug“ is not very thoughtful IMO. You do drugs in an uncontrolled way because you have mental problems and these people should be supported instead of getting punished.

I think we can agree that everyone is responsible for what they do and that you don’t need to be friends or spend time with people that like to smoke :)

Perhaps...yet I know of multiple people who've gone on to much stronger and destructive pharmaceuticals after starting with marijuana. Yes, could be a case of "post hoc ergo prompter hoc", and perhaps those souls were destined to be self-destructive...yet I can't help but wonder how their lives might have been different if weed hadn't been so accessible.

why when I log into Primal with Alby (on Chromium) does every post change to "spendgoldblocks"?

Logging in now without Alby (on Firefox) and everything seems fine...
