"Freedom of speech is being able to tell someone else something they don't want to hear." "No matter what you say, someone is going to be offended." "Once you realize that politicians are not altruistic, and that they're in politics for themselves and their own personal gain, then everything makes sense." "No one is above the law." "Have you ever met a poor politician?"

Nothing wrong with self sovereignty for your data.

Cloud services mean you don't own your data (e.g., iTunes) -- unless you're running your own cloud (e.g,, NextCloud) it's not your data.

Indeed, and you can get zapped for it as well!!

Took me a while to figure this one out...guess that's a good thing! 😃

I can't tell you--the whole time travel paradox thing you know... 😃

Perhaps---but IMHO if you can afford a cold wallet, you can afford to run a node...and you should.

No excuses other than "letting soemone else do it"....Umbrel makes it just clicking a few buttons (same with setting up a Raspberry Pi)

If you can install an app on your phone, you can run an Umbrel node. Makes no sense to me to trumpet "self sovereignty" and not run a node.

All hat and no cattle...

Drat...I certainly need another cup of coffee...totally screwed up the space time continuum today...

GM Nostr! Happy Monday!

Saw a post yesterday that showed that there are only 2,000 or so BTC nodes operating in the US.

And out of curiosity, I looked up on meshmap and saw there are about 1,500 #meshtastic nodes...(of course with far fewer users)

What this says to me is that we need to have more people running BTC nodes!

Seriously, it's neither hard, nor expensive. Grab a Raspberry Pi5, a 1TB SSD (min) and Umbrel and you're up and running...for about $125 or so.

Oh--and you'll need a cup of coffee while you plug it in! That's it!

Hmm...just over 2,000 in the US? I'd have thought there'd be more than that...

Acutally thought (at first glance) that Strike had integrated Cashu...but on closer inspection I see that wasn't the case...

Perhaps soon...?

GM Nostr! Happy Thursday!

Day after Christmas--looking forward to all the leftovers!

(But always have fresh coffee!)
