I don’t always understand nor can I intellectualize why I do things or why I believe things until years later after the thesis has solidified, but if I listen to my gut it will lead me there early.

Agreed, it’s just hard to specify those who have incentives against changes to the current structure. But “they” can certainly get overused and misunderstood.

Regulators, government, and the central bank. Controlling the bond market doesn’t work if there is a multi trillion dollar liquid exit valve. They cannot have a highly popular means of getting around it, or it doesn’t matter what they do, they won’t be able to control interest rates. And if they can’t, the ability to keep going into debt endlessly is over. The entire political class depends on that grift staying afloat.

It only works because of mis-priced debt. The “perpetual” side of the equation is just the manipulated dollar debt markets. In other words, horribly fake interest rates.

This is why they will inevitably HAVE to find any way they can to make it illegal to issue debt to buy #Bitcoin. But it won’t make a difference in the long run. Real interest rates will simply return to the 20% range or around there, because our current interest rates are just absurd. The thing that bitcoin was ALWAYS going to do that will have more impact on the world than anything else, was reprice debt.

The “perpetual motion machine” will keep working until the interest is no longer under their control, or until stocks are valued by their price in sats. Until then they will fight it as hard as they can.

Nobody is making you use Cash App or Strike either, they are how ever facilitating a transition towards a Bitcoin standard within the confines of the 'law'.

It's a much tougher battle to find a middle gound solution, because you either offer a full fiat model and custody the coins (coinbase/binance) for the user and risk reputational damage from those who understand counterparty risk. Or you build an anti-establishment model like Samurai did and risk going to prison and being called a money laundering terrorist.. because the fiat overlords deem you as one.

Critising these pioneers for finding a middle ground of 'limits' and 'kyc' is dumb.. especially if you havent got an answer for it yourself.

A person's values are shown in their actions, not necessarily by what they say - he's a true leader and exactly the type of person I'd wish I'd valued as a role model from a younger age.
