What’s the best way to Zap if I’m using #Damus?
Recently updated the app, and lost that feature. I’m assuming it’s due to Apple’s policy.
I'm a big fan of your work, Guy. Keep doing what you're doing. Narrating, editing, and publishing the audiobook gave me a deeper appreciation for how much work goes into your process.
You'll either love this (based on your interest in AI) or hate this (due to your huge investment of time in narrating), but my next project is to use AI platforms like ElevenLabs to produce similar audiobooks for other disciplines. It looks like I've been able to secure funding, so will be working on that project next as a proof-of-concept.
I was inspired by Bitcoin Audible and nostr:npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev to create a free and open source Political Science audiobook for my students.
The finished product is over 30 hours long, and we've had a great response from students around the country. It has been especially helpful for students with dyslexia and other learning disabilities. I'm presenting at an upcoming conference, and just wanted to share this clip that gives a shout out to Guy. I'm thankful for his work and for inspiring me to undertake this creative project.

I don't normally like to toot my own horn but this is a milestone for me. The week of Thanksgiving last year I stepped on the scale and it read almost 380 pounds. It was a smack in the face for me and I realized I needed to do something to make sure I am around for my family as long as possible.
I've been eating keto and exercising since then and this weekend was the first time in over a decade that the scale has read below 300 pounds for me. I still have a long way to go but I'm on the way.
I've also included a pic of my most recent labs for those that might wonder what eating mostly fat for 9 months will do to your lipids.

Thanks to the encouragement of the keto lifestyle from people such as nostr:npub15879mltlln6k8jy32k6xvagmtqx3zhsndchcey8gjyectwldk88sq5kv0n and nostr:npub1u2vu695j5wfnxsxpwpth2jnzwxx5fat7vc63eth07dez9arnrezsdeafsv

Congrats on all of your hard work and consistency. I’m curious if you’ve had any improvement in mental health while on keto? It’s made a huge difference for me in terms of mood and outlook.

This is cool. I know nothing about coding, but used GPT recently for a work project. It helped me write a script to count the number of characters in a list of documents. I was surprised at how well it worked.

*The paternity leave, not following me on Nostr. 😉
Good job, Dad. Glad to hear you took the time. You’ll never regret that.
On #Nostr nobody gets paid to harness your attention by stoking your anxieties, making you hate other people, making you outraged. Good riddance to those algorithms.

Theodore Roosevelt's take on American political parties rings especially relevant today:
"The old parties are husks, with no real soul within either, divided on artificial lines, boss ridden and privilege controlled, each a jumble of incongruous elements, and neither daring to speak wisely and fearlessly what should be said on the vital issues of the day.” - Theodore Roosevelt (Chicago, 1912).

Thanks for the recommendation. Just downloaded and subscribed.
I think that there might be something to what he is saying. I worry about this in the educational context where students are increasingly relying on AI to either actually write their assignments or do much of the heavy lifting with research, outlining, and argumentation. When we offload these tasks to AI, we are gradually undermining our own capacity for thinking. The risks become even more evident when you consider that AIs will have their own forms of political bias, including "off limits" topics. No doubt, AI will be hugely beneficial when it comes to increased productivity, but we need to be careful not to diminish our own thinking skills in the process.

This is so cool. How many sats to feed the goats?

I really like the other replies so far. For what it’s worth, I’ve also read that batching your UTXOs to reduce the number may have the unintended consequence of making your on-chain privacy worse. This would be especially true if your UTXOs were each acquired from different sources.
This would be fun.
