Hopefully now everyone realizes that these evil people do not actually care about our health and well-being.
They don’t seem to see the irony.
We can’t stereotype people but the only way to be a woman is to be some garish caricature of a Disney princess.
Genitals don’t matter but they need to cut them off to feel better.
We need to protect children by sterilizing them.
Thankfully it seems the pendulum is starting to swing back now.
You’re saying you don’t believe glyphosate is a carcinogen because The NY Times reported on it?
The guy who sued Bayer because he got cancer was a gardener.
And it’s not just you. Maybe you accidentally splash your clothing and hug your children later who will no doubt have higher sensitivity.
That stuff is dangerous. I wouldn’t even touch it.

I saw that Telegraph headline that the vaccines may have caused 3 million deaths. Better late than never. Just shows how you need to DYOR. They might tell you the truth but only after it’s too late.
And there won’t be any accountability. Even for this.
Need also to stay vigilant against the recent renewed push to bring advanced scripting to bitcoin. Apparently people want that amazing ETH innovation brought to bitcoin.
Bitcoin is money and our hope for the future.
It seems shitcoiners are the ones most excited about advanced scripting proposals like OP_CAT. They seem to want to make bitcoin into ethereum.
We don’t need to trade shitcoins on bitcoin. People often gamble because their money is broken. We’re here to fix it.
We don’t need to trade stablecoins on bitcoin. Bitcoin is for the next 1000 years and in 50 years nobody will know what stablecoins are.
We don’t need to trade Apple stock on bitcoin. It’s silly to integrate centralized share registries with bitcoin and pretend they’re decentralized.
We do need to make improvements but those need to be done slowly and carefully. Future generations are counting on us. We don’t need to rush. We’re not short-term thinkers with a high time preference. We build properly for the future.

Just listened to the recent podcast with Walt Smith.
Walt wants the ability to have DEX capabilities in bitcoin, like Uniswap. He mentioned trading Apple stock.
Why do these capabilities need to be built into the core protocol? Why not in a L2? This aspect wasn’t discussed. There was an implied assumption that it was L1 or nothing.
The problem with building shitcoin capabilities into the core protocol is that it encourages further mining centralization.
For example, if people could trade Apple stock on bitcoin, there would be an advantage to trade in advance of others. This would force hedge funds to cut more side deals with big miners and force other miners to centralize so as to not miss out on this extra revenue.
We are already seeing this unfold. nostr:npub1qtvl2em0llpnnllffhat8zltugwwz97x79gfmxfz4qk52n6zpk3qq87dze is struggling because they don’t go along with the spam. Miners don’t sign up because they lose out on revenue.
We shouldn’t encourage more mining centralization. People should shitcoin elsewhere. Bitcoin is money and our hope for the future.
Riiiiiight… they don’t control it, they just control what goes it it. The one GitHub repository, because it’s the only one that exists. It’s our only choice, because they have a monopoly.
Maybe you don’t run a node? because if you did, you would know that you must install new versions to keep up with operating system updates and bug fixes.
So yes, they can make people upgrade. Unless you’re telling me that people will stop upgrading their computers.
You should stop parroting simplistic messages that you were told and dig into the details. Bitcoiners need critical thinking skills. Trust BUT VERIFY. We’re talking about the system that protects the worlds savings and our hope for the future.
Totally agree. We need to decentralize all the parts.
In addition to explaining what in the software, we need alternatives that people can install if they don’t like what’s in it.
The problem is that software must be constantly updated to make sure it runs on the latest operating systems. Right now there is bitcoin core software and only core.
As a user you’ll be forced to upgrade eventually to core’s version. You don’t have another alternative. You can delay for a while, but eventually you’ll be forced to upgrade.
It’s true that users control the nodes, but core devs control bitcoin core and we have no other software options right now. It’s essentially a software monopoly.
And if we being honest, we’ll admit that most users don’t really know what’s in the version they install. I just hope users stay vigilant. It seems to me that users are too trusting in this area.
It’s funny that you mentioned the blocksize wars. You do realize that the UASF was written and promoted by core devs to avoid being “fired” by the big blockers, right?
It was framed as a war between users and big commercial interests, but it was actually a war between core devs and big commercial interests. I’m glad the core devs won. They were correct. But we can’t fool ourselves and say that they didn’t wield power and it was all users. Nobody knows how many users were ready to support the UASF because the miners capitulated before the deadline.
The blocksize wars are framed as a big win by users but you can see that’s really not the case. All we know is that miners do not control the network. We don’t know if the core devs do because this has never been tested.
Here’s an example of what he seems to be concerned with. Why do you believe that he is technically illiterate?

If you consider that the government is farming customers for politically aligned companies, then it all makes sense.
Maybe in a few years the fan-created spin-offs of popular shows will be better than the originals.
I’m sure we’re all so shocked…
I find it concerning that folks keep pushing this message that there’s nothing to worry about. We can all be complacent?
Look at the facts:
The blocksize war did not prove that the users control the network. It only proved that external commercial interests couldn’t.
If you actually look at the history of the war, it was the core devs that won and prevented those commercial interests from “firing” them. The USAF “weapon” that won the war was written and promoted by some core devs. (And I’m glad they did because those people helped to save bitcoin.)
Furthermore, the idea that users know what’s in the core software is hopium, at best. Users download the bitcoin core software because there is no other choice.
We all know that users will download whatever version the core devs publish. Users are forced to do so to keep up with bug fixes and software maintenance.
The unfortunate reality is the core devs are probably the most centralized aspect of the bitcoin network because they have a virtual monopoly on the software.
Instead of complacency, we need to recognize the danger of centralization and find ways to fix it.

The thesis is essentially that meme: hard times, strong people, easy time, weak people, hard times. The authors of the 4th turning explored the cycle from the perspective of demographics, but the concept also overlaps with Ray Dalio’s observations about an underlying 80 year debt cycle.
It could be just luck, but they did predict in 1998 that a long crisis would begin mid 2000 which seems to be playing out.
For me, the 4th turning term is just convenient label. We can all see that there is a sovereign debt crisis unfolding and getting worse. The theory gives us a framework to think about possible ways things might unfold.
I can’t vote but I’ve got my 🍿.
We’re in the fourth turning and what’s happening is meant to happen. Nothing can change it; like a fever, it just needs to run its course. With another ~10 years to go and bigger crises ahead, the only thing we can do is to help and protect our friends and family.
Seeing this makes me so bullish. Eventually they learn their USDT can be seized or censored and they move to bitcoin…
