Afternoon ☕️ is happening 🌞
Who wants one?
The ones that can’t stand them are usually sitting on the job.
I prefer the v4v model ( by donation/ run by volunteers) non sectarian Vipassana meditation retreats. They have locations all across the world.
Highly recommend Bubby.
GM, I will help as many people as I can today. ✌️ ❤️
That’s great to hear! Exciting. So much to uncover and learn. I’ll be on retreat end of Aug as well. 😊
Generally would do that as well but in this particular case for me I had just came off of a 10 day silent meditation retreat and was meditating 2 hrs daily thereafter. For me there was inner spiritual guidance and learning throughout that year and I didn’t require external input in that realm at that time.
What books would you recommend or have impacted you the most on spirituality and philosophy?
My favourite song has to be simple man by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Such wise advice. 🎶
The simple things are where it’s at🤝
So true. In 2018 I went a whole year with no podcasts, limited phone use, books, social, and other time wasters, I was in a contraction or consolidation phase. I worked, ate, slept, meditated, expanded the garden, spent time with family/friends, embraced the cold, and played a couple sports. I learned and grew so much that year! Come to think of it I need to do this again soon. ✌️
When it gets cold I crudely direct the heat from s19Jpro (3kw) miner in to my cold air return and put the furnace fan on. Keeps my home warm (20c) in winter when it’s down to -5c. Impressive how much heat they produce.
Have you ever thought about heating homes with bitcoin miners?
Stoicism has been front of mind for me lately.
Another stoic life hack I practice from time to time is negative visualization.
So what is this?
You visualize in the minds eye negative things happening to you, your loved ones and in your life. This sounds morbid, I know! But when you can imagine these negative things through visualization they hit hard and grab your attention and they seem to allow you to be much more appreciative for what you do have, the people in your life and opportunities in front of you right now. It might help you be more present, kind, to take action, appreciate close family members more ( you know the ones you may take for granted) and if nothing else to be glad and appreciate that those things you visualize about are not actually happening.
I find this technique to be counter intuitive and a bit esoteric but a good technique to shift perspective quickly.
