Dad. Husband. Math teacher. Runner. Amateur writer. Fisherman. Mediocre guitar player and volleyball player. We need a new cultural enlightenment. I want to be a part of it.

That’s a good way to think about it. I use it that way on Twitter when I’m interacting with people I know personally.

Here’s some insurance math for you. My insurance company has increased my home owners coverage to adjust for inflation.

The last two years they’ve increased my coverage by 28%.

They’ve increased my premium by 69.5%.

Eric Weinstein. He's done some bitcoin podcasts (WBD twice and Breedlove's What is Money?) He's always got an interesting take on things. You should listen to his most recent Rogan conversation for some really interesting stuff. #[0]

I think a lot of people are not grounded and are trying to find grounding in various ideologies - trying to find meaning in tribes.

When a diverse viewpoint is encountered, they’re quickly knocked off balance and get defensive. Because they aren’t anchored.

My guess is that the bitcoin price is not because a bunch of people are “seeing the light” on the banking system. I don’t know what’s driving it for sure. But it just doesn’t feel like people (institutions, companies, whoever) jump into bitcoin that quickly.

Although, people who are already in it may be even more convinced of its value. I suppose that could drive the price.

Critical Thinking students took the Factulness Quiz this weekend. Always makes for a good discussion in class. (You should try it, if you haven't. Takes anbout 5 minutes and is very eye-opening.)

I’m sitting at a hotel pool and a person is reading a real magazine. Like with paper pages and everything.

1999 Chrysler Concorde. Not very sexy. Big backseat though, which 16 year old me appreciated.
