If nothing else, it showed everyone the potential of taproot. There are fascinating possibilities, for sure.

I read an interesting idea: rollups (ala taproot) used as a test bed for changes to the code. Sure, there’s testnet, but testnet never actually interacts with the Bitcoin incentive system. The unintended consequences of a change the code are difficult to predict, and not fully tested in testnet. So, if you encode a bitcoin virtual machine in taproot and add a possible change to the code, you can see how the market adapts to the change (if at all). Interesting if that could be pulled off.

From what I have seen 3-6 months for this lawsuit to be resolved. Then, there are 2 lawsuits attempting to force redemptions (1 confirmed, 1 likely).

It was due to the opening arguments for the SEC case. The judges were asking pointed questions regarding the BTC futures and spot prices. How they move in tandem. It’s just the opening arguments, so a lot can change. That is the crux of Grayscale’s case, though. It’s looking more likely than not imo.

I orange pilled my nephews for Christmas. They’re 13 and 16. They thought it was so cool I was able to send them something with value while I was 500 miles away. They don’t even have a bank account, so they were so amazed that they had such simple access to a “savings technology”. Since that time, they saw the value increase by about 33%, which has probably hooked them. The next step is to set them up with the necessary equipment to run a nostr relay. It will be a summer project for them. Looking forward to it.

I didn’t see anything immediate on google to share a link, but I have seen a few posts regarding a pdf inscription that has executable code. I saw another post saying that they were viewing ordinals and the site asked for permission to use the camera. That was enough for me to avoid going too much deeper into viewing the ordinals.

Definitely be careful viewing the inscriptions. Apparently there’s executable code in some of them.

So far, he hasn’t made a compelling case. If someone could make a compelling case against ordinals, I am confident the community would coalesce and agree to a change. There’s just no reason to do anything. Especially because the market will resolve this when blocks become more crowded.
