This started happening when there was a surge of non-government funded media which was getting more attention and saying not so nice things about trudeau.

2. Sidechains don't make Bitcoin fungible. And the discreet nature and ubiquity of RandomX mining would not be transferred to a Bitcoin sidechain.

I wholeheartedly agree there is no second best. However, both Michael Saylor, and recently Peter Todd in his debate with Paul Sztorc, say if we want privacy we should buy Monero.

- Fully anonymous, no one can see no ones transactions, sender, receipent, balance etc. Impossible to seize.
