New NostrOS client just went live with massive performance improvements, embedded videos, image slideshows, proper pagination, popular users and more.
It's a big re-write; will polish more tomorrow.

#NostrClient #Nostr

I will be releasing a MASSIVE update for NostrOS client today.
- Offline mode (much, much faster!)
- Popular users & events
Here's a preview of what's (who's) hot right now:

It's tricky. I think the future of Nostr will be, to limit what you see.
- There may be millions of relays (sort of like websites)
- You connect only to the relays you care about (RSS), and filter the content (and users) you see
I think the real problem may be discoverability without centralization, but this is already a problem of today's web.
Added a new "Hot right now" list. It's just using most recent events but I'll expand this soon.

I definitely believe, and do not question, the public narrative.
Tailscale partners with Mullvad!
This partnership allows customers of Tailscale to make use of the Mullvad VPN servers as “exit nodes”. This means that while connected to Tailscale, you can access your devices across Tailscale’s mesh network and still route outbound traffic through Mullvad VPN servers.
HUGE.

Exactly. Huge.
To prevent your ISP from monitoring you, give your $$$ to the largest VPN provider in the universe, and have them monitor you instead.
Don't listen to all these creeps
- You've gotta do KYC
- Get a subscription
- Make sure to suck up to Nostr CEO for higher ranking
- Definitely agree with common narrative or get blocked
I just find it hilarious. For example, developers that want to become more "efficient" (as in, code more, faster) without noticing that the majority of this benefit (efficiency gain) will go towards their employer - only until the machine does a better job, of course.
Not sure if nothing is better than nothing but yeah :)
I do hope we'll find a better approach soon.
We're going to need it.
I'm surprised, it's not much worse yet.
You are an impersonation.
What does that even mean? How would one take thousands of subscribers to another platform, without them having to sign-up there? I mean even Mastodon -> Mastodon, you cannot really transfer followers to a new account as far as I'm aware (correct me If I'm wrong).
So this is just nice sounding BS?
Yes, these points always bothered me about Mastodon.
People literally run a server, just to get the ID.
IPFS has certainly proven itself.
I shall try to implement it in my client.
