Keeps happening to me too. Now I post on Primal and then pop over to Iris to see if it took before I try again.

Something to keep an eye on.
Coming along nicely.

Looks like I'll be spending the next few days with my nose in a book.

"In closing, bitcoin appears to provide a number of benefits across an ESG framework."
Terrific new report on bitcoin's ESG impacts by @BrianConsolvo for @KPMG and stolen from @thetrocro on Twitter.
Share it widely.

I love cemeteries and reading grave stones. Always some great stories there.
I think today is an important day to remember when people talk about Bitcoin’s “switching narratives”. Its the 6th Anniversary of the UASF that created Bitcoin Cash. I don’t agree with the “Bitcoin is just a get rich quick” characterization but the people who claimed the true goal was faster/cheaper lost that debate and have mostly left Bitcoin (prematurely, considering Lightning and other Layer 2s can deliver that). The scarce/SoV group won the debate & remains. The Narrative didn’t change, there were always people who saw this scarcity argument as the real value behind the network, but we didn’t know that was what the Market wanted until the UASF.
Ah. The memories.

Bitcoin prices have remained largely unscathed today in spite of the much-hyped hard fork, which resulted in the creation of Bitcoin Cash, a rival cryptocurrency that is similar to Bitcoin but touts a far larger block size.
At the time of report, Bitcoin was trading at $2,751.40, roughly 4.3% lower for the session, according to the CoinDesk Bitcoin Price Index (BPI).

I don’t mean that they are afraid of freedom.I mean they are afraid the the repercussions of attempting a breakout and failing.
I think the yearning for freedom is something you can’t be separated from the human soul but people can be beaten into choosing comfort (or the lack of pain) over facing their fear of failure. We see people punished all the time and we know what failure looks like. Other than Yachts and Mansions (which I would argue are not even real freedom) most people can’t even picture real freedom but they know they want it.
The best thing about bitcoin is that once you see IT, you can dare to imagine that freedom is even possible FOR YOU. You can start to see what it looks like and realize that comfort ISNT freedom.
But every human being WANTS freedom.
Six years ago today this is where we watched the Bitcoin hard fork. Then I rushed back to our apartment and started calculating how many Bitcoin I could buy with my Fork coins. Didnt figure out how to claim them without risking our Bitcoin until November but I calculated that conversion every day in between.

With all due respect, nobody doesn’t want freedom. Some people just fear the potential beatings and lynchings more, and sometimes for good reason.
Freedom can be scary to contemplate because an attempt to attain it that fails results in punishment.
That’s the root of the “Bitcoin is boiling the ocean” critiques, it’s an attempt to scare people away from trying, to convince them that if they try they may end up worse. If they allow anyone to try we may all end up worse. And people believe that because they can’t even imagine being free of debts and bills and creditors.
Everyone wants freedom. Some people just don’t believe it is even possible.
Luckily there are still some small farmers around here who will sell raw milk. The FDA has taken a few to court so they only do it for someone they know and trust. We could walk into any barn and draw it out of the bulk tank as kids and I just never realized how lucky we were. Mom used to put straight cream on fresh baked bread and it was the best desert I’ve ever eaten.starving now just thinking about it.
Hmm. Baby swiss seems drier and harder than this but maybe. Have you ever had Queso Fresco, Mexican cheese? What we get here is basically Cottage Cheese that has the whey squeezed out.
Sometimes we call it Amish cheese here but my Bosnian friend has another name for it I can’t remember right now
