No special memories per se, but definitely had done a lot of chore under its shade
Day 87: #grownostr initiative
The silver lining to losing a hundred year old oak tree in a storm--great fire wood.

I love this idea. Why drink cheladas when you can go straight tomato moonshine.
Caprese Salad for our antipasto tonight.

I was thinking more for preservation, but I love tomatoes and different ways to eat them fresh. I will definitely give this a try. Thanks for the idea.
Nice. Definitely going to do this. Thanks.
I harvested this cilantro plant yesterday and got one full cup of seeds. And I have a bunch that I am waiting on to dry up. I'll be saving some and grinding some for corriander.

Nice! How do you dry them?
Tomatoes to be canned whole, diced, made into sauce and salsa...looking for other ideas.

The newest member of out homestead--Ninja. Her main duties are catching mice and cuddling.

Even though we may not live in the utopia we all wish, we are still able to interact with each other openingly, spend time with our friends and family and pursue those things which make us happy. To that I am grateful. Happy 4th.

How the heck do I block this annoying repetitive nostr:npub1gd08wckl8f7a99099yt6nt3rklz564q2q3yeqcknhy2kn78hw0dqezvrcx from constantly showing the SAME DAGGUM NOTES IN MY FEED
Using the client Iris, you click on their username and bring up their profile. From there you can see three dots to the right of their name. Select those dots and scoll down the list to where it says 'block.'
For sure. We have several months still before the first frost. I always think even if I don't harvest fruit, I always harvest knowledge for the next year
Day 84: #grownostr initiative
I found this little guy in the garden. Its the first Cantaloupe (I still dont know if there is time for it to grow into an edible fruit though.) I planted the Cantaloupe too early this spring and the temperature dropped near freezing and killed most of the Cantaloupe plants except for a few. After that they grew and developed incredibly slow. There have been a lot of flowers for weeks but I not seen one bee on them.

I just read the berries can be used for cooking as well. The are supposed to have a lemony, cilantro flavor, albeit a slightly bitter. I am excited to try this.
The Cilantro has gone to seed in one of my sunny garden beds. It will be time to harvest some Coriander seed soon.

Btw I think these two would look very handsome in a bed together. The okra behind and the sweet potato in the front.
Day 83: #grownostr initiative
I took pics of two garden plants that i think have very beautiful flowers. Who says edible plants can be used to landscape your yard? π€

Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus)

Sweet Potato Vine (Ipomoea batatas)

Maybe the better question would be what is your favorite fruit or vegetable preserved and how?
