any non US folks open to chatting with me and some of the strike team in a user research study we’re doing?

we are looking to launch our global on-ramps soon and we wanna learn more about how strike can be the best bitcoin experience and learn more about the financial needs of different parts of the world

Doing finishing touches for my book, which is now past all external editing. I'm doing the author's final edit/checkup, cover, getting it into the right format for publication, etc.

Some questions for the community:

-Do you prefer hardcover, paperback, or ebook?

-For hardcover or paperback, do you care about the physical dimensions of a book? eg do you prefer a 5.5"x8.5" thicc book or a 7"x10" thinner book?

-For those that like audio books, would you prefer to read the book physically or electronically rather than listen to it, if it had a lot of images?

For the remainder of the year I'll be undertaking further nutritional & exercise tweaks as part of my ongoing health experimentation.

This will include taking 20 supplements per day at a cost of $300 per month. We'll see if it's worth it!

What’s the best way for an Egyptian to buy bitcoin?

Sure. The graph represents the number of transactions waiting to be confirmed by the Bitcoin network at any given time. The higher it goes, the longer the line of pending transactions. The colors represent the different fee rates that each sender is paying to the miners, and the pending transactions are organized with the highest fee rates on top. Whenever a new block is found, the miners take a giant "chomp" out of the top (though they're free to include lower-fee transactions, too), so they can get the fees from the highest-paying transactions.

So, lately, there have been more pending transactions that have been getting confirmed than new transactions coming in, so the line has been getting shorter, and the minimum fee rate to get into the next block is going down. I believe that, eventually, the list of pending transactions will never go to zero, but for now, it's looking like even the transactions with a fee rate of 1 sat/vbyte will get confirmed, and we'll once again have some blocks that aren't entirely full.

Welcome new folks! I’ve been getting these questions a lot in the past couple of days so here we go:

1. What are zaps?

Zaps are receipts of bitcoin lightning payments to posts or profiles on nostr (the name of the underlying protocol). By attaching a lightning address to your profile via a wallet like wallet of satoshi, you can send and receive any amount of money to anyone in the world in under a second. This is all possible without any intermediaries. Its uncensorable money over an uncensorable speech protocol.

2. What are relays and why do we need them?

Relays are regular servers and regular databases. When posting notes or following users, it sends your notes/contact list/profile/etc to multiple relays at once controlled by different people. We do it this way because we believe no one should have the ability to unilaterally deplatform you.

3. How do you make money

Still trying to figure that out.
