Doing finishing touches for my book, which is now past all external editing. I'm doing the author's final edit/checkup, cover, getting it into the right format for publication, etc.

Some questions for the community:

-Do you prefer hardcover, paperback, or ebook?

-For hardcover or paperback, do you care about the physical dimensions of a book? eg do you prefer a 5.5"x8.5" thicc book or a 7"x10" thinner book?

-For those that like audio books, would you prefer to read the book physically or electronically rather than listen to it, if it had a lot of images?

Hard cover Thicc

Personally - I like hardcover books. No preference on dimensions.

hardcover thick!

Paperback thicc but shorter height. I mostly read when traveling and having a bigg ass book or a hardcover on the backpack is a pain in the ass

Ebook unless there are lots of images. Then softcover & thin.

ebook

Also, thank you for posting nostr.

Hardback and thick

All of the above

Yes

I prefer ebooks as I travel alot

Hardcover + ebook

ebook, especially if PDF available so it can be read without a Kindle! 🙏

Paperback and snook

Don't care about dimensions

Honestly even if it has a lot of images I don't mind listening to it if it's narrated well and the audio book includes a pdf

Ebook - paperback

E book and audio should be priority I think. Personally physicals are only books I want in a collection for my future children.

Hard cover. Thinner book - less bulky in bag/when traveling but not a big deal.

For what it’s worth, audio books read by author > read by whoever else.

Can wait to have a glance at the first chapter of 🖇️ book 📖

I like audiobooks. In the case of your book, it would make sense to do a video book, you reading it and going through the slides would be the best. It's a lot of work though.

Ebook. In something supported on kindle.

Congrats on the book- my preferences are hardcover 7x10 AND audio book so I will have both versions I tend to listen more than read these days-

Congrats! Physical

Copy for me. Generally prefer paperbacks but for important books I want to keep forever, a hardback. Likewise size - smaller for everyday books, don’t care for keepers.

Thick paperback

I prefer audiobooks.

If it's going to be a physical copy, then I prefer paperback

Paper back, larger thinner.

Hardcover and then ebook

Hardcover, and thick as opposed to thinner.

Hardcover for me please!! Prefer that over paperback for all my Bitcoin books .

Paperback 5.5"x8.5"

Paperback!

Audiobook

Ebook please!

It's the only way for people in countries that you don't ship to

A Lyn Alden book is a reference book, so:

Hard or soft. But Thinner is better - less bulky in bag / traveling.

Also would definitely buy as an audio book. Ie Car/mobile listening and then re-listen in a years time.

For what it’s worth, audio books read by author > read by whomever else.

Small thick paperback plus ebook

Ebook == EPUB format

ebook in .mobi .epub

Paperback, small like a sci fi or romance novel at the supermarket

Smaller thick book rocks. Paper or hardback… it’s cool either way.

I prefer audio books, can the images be provided as a pdf?

Hardcover, Stripe Press style.

If your book contains a lot of figures, I definitely prefer physical over audiobook and kindle. And for physical, hardcover is preferred. Gladsteins latest is a good example. Looking forward to reading yours!

I like the option of all 3. I tend to read ebooks and soft covers a lot more. If it had pictures I’d opt in for the hard cover.

I tend to read ebooks more often but not out of preference. Simply out of convenience. I hate viewing pictures on ebooks.

Small books are always my preference over large. But again, if it had lots of charts and it was a keeper I’d opt for a large hard cover.

Can’t wait to get this book.

If I'm going to buy something prefer it physical. Don't care about dimensions.

Barbell strategy: I usually buy the thick hardback for posterity and the audiobook because I never get around to reading it.

Ebook which I can pay you for in sats without a 3rd part intermediary such as BTCPay server would be my preference.

Would much prefer a chunkier Hardcover version myself.

Buying your book as soon as it gets released.

Audio books + paperback.

My preferences would be a 5.5x8.5 hardcover book. I’m old school 🤷🏻‍♂️

- Hardcover

- 7”x10”

Looking forward to it.

Pre-Order - signed available?

Congrats, looking forward to it.

if(hardcover) {

for me = “thicker book”;

}

for me = “audio”;

for me = “I’ll buy whatever #[1] decides “

Kindle please ⚡️

These are all great questions.

When I was younger and took the train, I did most of my reading during commute with paperback books that were smaller in size and would fit in the inner pocket of my coat. Larger pages make for less creasing of the binding but end up keeping a hand occupied or needing carried in a satchel or backpack.

Most hardback physical books I acquire in recent years are timeless data for reference lookups (math formulas, languages, science, medical before the purge and rewrite of reality)

Today though most of my reading is in electronic medium like web, pdf or epub. Audiobook format tended to prefer for longer works without diagrams.

I find it hard to listen to an audiobook that references diagrams or where the material really relies on the diagrams to convey what's being discussed. If you listen to some of the pieces read by Guy Swann you can see what I mean.

If your new book has this dependency on diagrams, consider a bundle option to be able to offer both the ebook and audio at a discount.

In all likelihood, I'd personally probably start with the ebook format and if I hadn't read it after a time may get the audio version.

Could have done a zap poll lol

Audio and electronic for images here 🙋🏾‍♂️

Ebook!

Audio book, electronic if lots of images.

Trade paperback for the win. Preferably one that sits open nicely in one hand.

Hard cover 7x10 is my preference.

Hardcover, no size preference

Hard cover

Hi Lynn,

I’d say a larger format paperback-especially if there are graphs/images. Whatever you choose will be great though—can’t wait to read & share it.

Ebook. Using a Kindle daily.

Kindle is my preference

Ebook, reading book

Hard cover always for me..Don’t mind the dimensions

Ebook

I'd say hardcover - dimensions thinner - for an audio with a lot of images would likely need to be read vs. audio. However nostr:npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev would have to be the voice of a read.

Golden Section 5x8 and super thick.

Hard cover for sure.

Seriously, can't wait.

Softcover and thin. I also appreciate an audible version with you reading it!

paperback 5.5" x 8.5"

Hardcover Thick

E book

Hardcover or Paperback, 5.5" x 8.5"

i’ll take a 1st ed signed HC 5.5” semi-thick

7x10 ! Annotation-friendly

All of them.

Larger size for hard cover, not a fan of the warp you get from a really thic hard cover. Paperback better for tic book

I like hardcover. And audiobooks but only when the author reads it herself.. ;-)

Hardback 7x10. K thx bai

100% soft cover.

Lying down and reading hardcover or just the awkwardness/weight of it plus the price of them suck.

Hate reading long-form electronically, been tempted to print out your public articles many times, but okay with reading your member service reports online.

If listening to the book, I’m okay with it skipping the charts and just reading the content. When I listened to “Retirement Income For Life” by Frederick Vettese on Audible, he put all the charts at the end of the ‘book’. Then the reader would mention chart “10.1” and I could manually go find that chart in the chapter section as the reader continued.

Looking forward to purchasing your book!

For audio books always get the author to read it wherever possible … it’s moe authentic.

For hard copies you probably want it small enough you can hold it in the hand but large enough the graphs aren’t crowded.

My views only.

If physical, softcover for reading, but hardcover for showing off. 7x10

If digital, prefer audiobook (preferably narrated by the author).

Physical, paperback, thin.

I’m an audiobook kinda guy. If there was a pdf to accompany for illustrations that would be a bonus.

paperback 5.5x8.5

I'll be getting hardcover, audio and ebook. I switch a lot between mediums.

I prefer audiobooks because I'm dyslexic. But I like getting the hardcovers of books that I want to read with my crappy eyes, and I guess I like smaller, but chonkier ones.

Ebook

I like hardcover for the shelf. Paperback to read, but I'll probably read the ebook to be fair. I find myself drifting into other thoughts listening to an audio.. Sorry this answer was no help to you.

I’ll buy your ebook👍

Will you be doing a book cover “reveal”

for audio please read yourself

Congratulations Lyn, paperback, smaller and thick and audio with you reading it. Wishing you the greatest good for the final stages and launch.

Hardcover, to go into the #Bitcoin shelf after reading. It often comes in handy when discussing the subject with guests.

Audiobook with attached pdf/images even if it has a lot.

Hardcover 7” x 10” thinner.

Looking forward to adding it to my shelf! 📖

Audiobook 100% . Time constraints and eye health!

Hardcover by far.

ebook please!

Paperback and mild preference for the 5.5

Audiobook only

Always dematerialised version

paperback for me

I love the looks of physical books but for actual reading¹ I use ebooks.

¹ that is: for serial beginning-to-end reading, if I have to flip back and forth a lot then a physical book is preferred

E book please

As a collector generally I like well made books.

So a good looking hardcover is great but a well made softcover is good as well. The Japanese really nailed the art of soft cover books.

I like to read on a Kindle because you can better underline and collect important information. But it doesn‘t work well for graphics.

Still a digital edition is a must for me. I like to buy the audio book version as well and use „whispersync“ for my bike rides.

Hello Lyn, your book read by Peter from "What BTC did" would be the most appealing form to me.

With images 7x10 no real preference on hard v soft cover.

Hardcover with dimensions based on the golden mean.

Hard cover, thin

For Books that serve as ongoing references I prefer hard cover 7 x 10. For all others audio or ebooks. You reference numerous images, I am guessing this will not be light reading - hard cover please.

Hardcover, no size preference and i can’t wait to read your book!

Paperback, thin, audio. Not interested in electronic

Larger hardcover

Small thick paperback

Small thick paperback

Hard (thin w/ big pages) : premium print quality, graphics, coffee table qualities

Soft: plain text smasher

I usually do audiobook first and then buy hardcover if its outstanding. Having followed your content for a while, I may jump ahead straight to buying the hardcover :)

Very excited to read your book. I prefer paperback, but love to have the option of an audio book as well for when I'm on the road.

When it comes to dimensions, especially when it has a lot of images, I'd prefer a thinner book with bigger dimensions

I prefer ebook or pdf. I like to read on my reMarkable 2 device which is incredible.

I like to have the audio book too, and would pair it with the digital book.

I sometimes buy hard copy to read, but then I give it away and keep the digital version when I'm done. Gotta live light these days.

What's the title?

7 ×10 ebook (unless graphs are hard to read

Audiobook, even without pictures. I don't have time/patience to read these days unless it's audio.

Paperback for me please Lyn. 🙏

Ebook

Hard cover, pocket size

Hardcover, thick

Hardcover, as it will be one for the bookshelf next to Bitcoin Standard and Blocksize Wars 😉

wen book :)

Paperback, thinner book.
