In what sense a scammer trying to destroy Bitcoin could've helped it.

I've just received a grant of $25,000 USD (in Bitcoin) to work alongside the Human Rights Foundation educating political dissidents around how to use BTC. I'm very humbled and excited.

Rather than focus on me for this post though, I want to take you on a journey regarding one of the stories I've witnessed at the Oslo Freedom Forum that has had the most impact on me.

In Oslo 2022, I watched a woman take the stage and talk about her activist husband who had been abducted and imprisoned in Nicaragua, leaving their daughter fatherless, as they had no contact with him at all.

I also met a wonderful woman learning about Bitcoin wallets for the first time, as a way to fundraise and get money into countries where dissident bank accounts would be shut down.

A year later I returned to Oslo and learned two things.

1. The woman I spoke with/coached and the woman onstage were the same person. Her name is Berta Maradiaga.

2. Due to the efforts of the HRF her husband Felix had been freed and returned to them for the first time in 3 years. They even showed a video of his daughter's tearful first reunion.

I encourage you to watch all 3 videos here. It is a harrowing story and it emotionally broke me watching it play out in real time. I got to spend a bunch of time with Berta recently at Bitcoin Park in Nashville, and she continues to learn about BTC and how it can be used to further their cause. She is wonderful.

Grab your tissues.

Political dissidents can be a double edged sword.

So many government have been thrown out by the bad guys.

Watch out. Don't ever trust the official version. It's never true.

The amazing thing is that way before Linux there was Minix that was also a unix version. But it wasn't open source ( I think the word even existed at that time).

I run minix in my computer (I bought it. No torrent, not even internet back then).

What's the End Game?

================

My last post advocating for a Bitcoin chain split drew various reactions. Some labeled me as irresponsible, while others claimed I was undermining proof-of-work (I wasn't) or promoting a hard fork (again, I wasn't). The critics want more technical discussions to reach a consensus.

Here's the core issue: what's the endgame for drivechains? We've debated the technical aspects for seven years. Do we expect new information that will suddenly unite everyone?

The reality is, those in favor of a drivechains soft fork aren't going away. If anything, they will grow louder. So, what's the end result of endless discussions?

Prolonged debate without consensus not only wastes time but stall other valuable updates. I'll remind you that seven years of discussion have not resolved this issue.

A peaceful resolution now has a lot of benefits. We can put much of this debate to bed by engaging the market instead of claims made by marketers. We can see whether the things promised by the advocates actually come to pass and we'll learn a lot more about miner incentives.

Of course, there are other ways to resolve this conflict besides a chain split, such as creating a separate chain, using a different sidechain mechanism, or adding the needed op codes in an altcoin. Yet, these options have been available for seven years and haven't been pursued by the drivechain advocates. I think those are better resolutions than a chain split and a successful use case would be the best way to convince those of us that are skeptical of the drivechainers' claims. But that's not what they're doing and so we are at loggerheads.

In summary, the drivechain debate isn't resolving itself. A split will end this divisive conversation and allow us to focus on more productive projects like improving the Lightning Network or furthering Taproot features.

Your idea was a really bad idea.

The setting of parameters should be on the side of drivechainers. Don't you think?

AI is wonderful. Those that survive the current genocide will be freed in a few years thanks to AI.

The Davos psychopaths will lose control.

Either that or after hyperbitcoinization.

What about the warrios diet? Eating just once per day.

It's a lose fat at a slow pace wonderful way.

I watch whatsapp, telegram, nostr, ... on the computer.

But without the phone I couldn't link whasapp, telegram to the computer and I couldn't use my bank on the computer (they always send sms).

I wish I could get rid of the phone.
