I can see your point that they tried to make an example out of him. It’s pretty obvious with that sentence he received.

Honest question: Why do so many people want Ross Ulbricht pardoned today?
Is it because his sentence was extremely harsh?
According to GPTs, a fair sentence for crimes similar to Ulbricht's might be:

I’m genuinely curious because I don’t know enough about Ross or his case. I’ve seen many calling for his release (#FreeRoss) and would love to understand their perspective.
Personally, I think Ross has served enough time. Double life plus 40 years is excessive for a young person who launched a website and got in over their head. At the same time, I see the potential real-world harm the site may have caused, especially if murder-for-hire claims are true.
If it were me, I’d hope for the benefit of the doubt and a chance to prove I’ve learned from my mistakes.

Trading in and out, if you hold long-term you’ll likely end up losing most, if not all your investment.

Meme coins like $Trump and $Fart coin don't make sense to me, and I find no value in them.
I felt the same about NFTs last crypto cycle.
I understand why people like them, but I don't participate as I see no value in them.
It's hard to watch things go from a low price to skyrocketing overnight.
As a non-professional investor, focus on what you understand, study, and believe in, not the latest trend.
Will I miss out on massive profits? Definitely, life changing in some cases. But I'll also avoid rug pulls and pump and dumps. I'm not a VC looking to invest 1% in 100 ideas, hoping for a few to be home runs and expecting losses on the rest.
The older you get, the less FOMO affects you. Experience from multiple market cycles is invaluable. Owning assets you believe in helps because you choose not to abandon your best ideas for new ones.
Want the thrill of "crypto"? Why not just buy and hold Bitcoin long-term? It's volatile enough lol.
To be completely honest and transparent, I'm not immune from FOMO. I've done it in the past and I still do it on occasion. It's rare but sometimes I'll put a tiny amount on what I think could be a dark horse. My success rate on these is near zero though and I know that it's basically a loss going in.

Investing is the only place a dumb person can outperform a smart person over time.
The dumb person just has to put money in consistently (DCA) and then remember about it when they retire.
The smart person thinks they can trade their way in and out, buy low and sell high. They can think they can time it perfectly. They’ll study the business and other economic cycles and indicators are on my side. ISM, PMI, VIX, MOVE, ALPHA, BETA, DELTA, GAMMA…
Truth is, after spending countless hours watching charts, reading 10K’s, spending a fortune on Bloomberg and indicators/signal subscriptions, fees to get in and out of positions, and capital gains tax, they will likely underperform the S&P 500 and the “dumb” guy just putting money in and not worrying about the ebbs and flows of the market.
Invest like a dumb person but in the smart assets.
Good options are S&P 500 and Nasdaq index funds and Bitcoin (keep it simple and go with the low fee ETF’s).
Your future self will thank you.
My humble suggestion to folks, keep it simple. Remove the stress and outperform most pros. Not financial advice.
