The cashew tree (Anacardium occidentale) is a tropical evergreen tree native to South America in the genus Anacardium that produces the cashew seed and the cashew apple accessory fruit. The tree can grow as tall as 14 metres (46 feet), but the dwarf cultivars, growing up to 6 m (20 ft), prove more profitable, with earlier maturity and greater yields. The cashew seed is commonly considered a snack nut (cashew nut) eaten on its own, used in recipes, or processed into cashew cheese or cashew butter. Like the tree, the nut is often simply called a cashew. Cashew allergies are triggered by the proteins found in tree nuts, and cooking often does not remove or change these proteins.

With more Open Software we will have more collaboration. People learn more as they are put in difficult environments. So if #FOSS becomes the norm, eventually it might not be that difficult to understand.
The short version for me is FOSS means people have the ability to make it what they want it to be. Freedom is invaluable when it comes to software. The most important software we have today was all built on this idea.
Closing software turns it into a money machine. The focus is on a product is removed and replaced with a focus on the perception. The Brand. If you will.

Yeah I like the idea of pay it forward. I wonder if my perspective will ever change if I actually buy something with my zaps though.
I, of course, dont have to do this. And maybe thats where I will draw the line. But I am aware that other people will.
I wonder if a platform that encourages this kind of interaction will remain a healthy place to socialize though. Im trying to think like someone who might abuse the system. That will inevitably affect a lot of the direction of nostr.
Maybe it has a place. I might just need more time to undersrand it.
I will continue to think about it. Im just not so sure how I feel about the idea of money as the main interest of my sociality.

You read mine wrong. I dont think there should be an algorithm to inform. An algo is the source of many problems.
Turns social media into a drug.
Encourages advertisers to hack it.
Discourages 1:1 sociality (making actual friends) in place of becoming more popular.
This is also my problem with zaps. Its like paying people to be your friend? Whatever happened to the intrinsic value that relationships used to have on their own??
