I feel like there are people today who have a Venmo account with a small balance that they pay back and forth to others with. If the balance gets big, they transfer back to a bank account. If small, they can add from the bank. While I know we have the potential to do things radically different, I think people will feel comfortable with experiences similar to what they know today. I’d love to use ecash the way I use Venmo- and someday I think I will. I take your point on getting back to fiat money- like, could I take a $20 bill from a fiend and send them equivalent ecash? Then, if they want out, they could send me the ecash for whatever that currency is? Imagine a scenario where I get farm products once a week, and distribute to friends and family. Some use cash, others Apple Pay, others Venmo, others Zelle. They want to give me between $6 and $50 per week, depending on orders. I’m open to suggestions- and appreciate the discussion.

Any recommendations on some tutorials that walk through this? I’ve listened to discussions but would really value seeing it done in a demonstration. I’m trying to understand more but feel out of my depth compared to others who may be full time in the space.

Could you log in on another device? Might narrow down if it’s the user account or the app? I’m not as technical as others here but just thinking out loud.

I feel like, as early adopters, we accept that there are challenges here to work out. I’m concerned that as we onboard friends and family, and they see despicable content in Introductions or Grownostr hashtags, they will abandon the protocol. Could clients use AI to filter images but be very transparent about it? Like movie ratings- the user selects if they want a G rated experience, PG, PG13, R or NC17. Maybe even require a passcode to change that (think accounts used by minors). Anyway, seems like there could be ways to approach it and different clients could taylor to their customers and let the market decide. For what it’s worth, when primal 2.0 came out and the firehose was an errant swipe away, I suggested making the firehose a little harder to get to and they responded. Imagine X or Meta responding to customer feedback that quickly (and I know it was likely others feedback too). Appreciate the thoughtful discussion all!

Someone must reply to those, but they seem so obviously fake.

The mindset of the person writing that doesn’t get why people as so fed up and angry. It’s not like $8m wasted is an isolated thing. It’s everywhere. It’s death by a thousand cuts. And some of those cuts are billions in waste. They all add up. They funnel back to the same organizations. They are meant to hide under titles like green energy or affordable care but are waste and grift. Personally, I see a crescendo coming… we have been told that defense and Medicare and Medicaid and social security are off limits for cutting… I think they’re building up to the real money.

I think some join nostr and see a lot of BTC content and think it’s just that, or mostly that. We know it’s not- but are willing to put the time in to find things too.

I miss accounts I would get news from through x, specifically. Of course nostr has some, and it’s getting better.

Mirrored accounts with huge followings on other platforms could really help bridge the “lack of content” complaints until more people turn to nostr first.
