Another possible complication is how our modern world is disconnected to the actual making of things. I see it all the time in the art world. There’s a deep abiding resistance to paying someone who “just magically made something appear” with their own hands and brain. Will didn’t just go effortlessly pick his creations off the magical Code Tree. People don’t see the actual work and definitely don’t consider the years it took to be able to produce that work either. This is a topic that I’m still working on defining and exploring in my writing. In all manner of scenarios, people who would pay the asking price for an existing commodity without hesitation, often balk completely at paying a fair price for something created out of thin air and raw materials. You’re lucky if you get the price of your materials covered, often even that goes at a loss.
And it gets real lonely when you look around and see few if any people come with you.
Not gonna lie this made my day.
"You can't do nothin until the PO-lease come"
Nope, wrong answer. Sikhs are peaceful people until you piss them off! Stealing from them usually does it. #grownostr

What’s up with the bit where he pretends to reach for a gun in his back pocket? Do none of these people understand that’s the fastest way to get shot? Even if this is CA? It’s epic to see him get pounded anyway.
That same thing happened the other night in the street near my house with a bunch of teen shits antagonizing a neighbor who I know for sure has a gun. They kept yelling insults and jumping around him while pulling at their shirts just like this idiot here. (The parents of one of those shits are the most obnoxious anti 2A in even this liberal area). Turns out none of them had a gun but they all had their phones out like they were ok with risking getting shot just to go viral. Fortunately this neighbor used extreme restraint protecting his family and property and no one died. But I’d have bought a ticket to see any of those boys get whopped like this.
What a great example of the essence of art - taking a mundane thing that few people notice and hold it up to people so they can see the marvel of simple things around them.
Spot on. Speaking in front of folks is probably the best therapy available for shy people and those with low self esteem. It did amazing things and helped me understand that we are all the world’s leading authorities on ourselves. To paraphrase Dr. Seuss- “this is truer than true, no one’s you-er than you.”
At this point I can only use my iPad to post but even it has glitches
Thanks, I’ve been in all levels of the art world long enough to see it firsthand. Wrote a 110k word manuscript on that and related topics, but then I realized the art world knows all about it an I’d just be another kid saying the Emperor has no clothes but no one wants to hear it.
Yep.I fear my 9 year old Mac’s OS is too old to support the tech for Nostr though. Every time I try to install something the screen goes blank. Same with my iPhone. It’s frustrating.
Be prepared for it to be gone a long time. It took me 4 months to get my smell back- and I warn you that some stuff won’t smell the same once it comes back. For example, the smell of mint in my garden came across as a mix between gasoline and rotting flesh. That took a lot longer to get over but it does get better. For what it’s worth, the afternoon of the day I went swimming in a local mineral spring known for therapeutic qualities, my smell sense came back. Got any mineral springs nearby?
It might be worth doing a deep dive into discerning between “pity” and “compassion” I see charity all too often coming from pity which is a top down, usually disempowering action towards the recipient. Compassion on the other hand can definitely include tough love so to speak and tends to be more altruistic. Pity often extends suffering where compassion often touches on doing hard choices to lessen suffering. That’s where I got to on it.
You’re right, it is basically the same as fiat. It takes a coordinated conspiracy of artist(?), dealer/galleries, curators, art “experts” to certify that an artist’s work is valuable. Never mind that for decades, the actual preference and appreciation of regular people regarding art has been completely ignored. What we see here is nothing more than a decorative(?!) poker chip that gets traded amongst a select group of insanely rich people, in the hope of it becoming worth more every time it changes hands. That’s where the curators, critics, and gallerists come in, they reinforce the myth of what is good, time tested art even though it’s all bunk. Even worse is that the super rich KNOW it’s bunk and they see it as a status symbol of how much money they can throw/waste on it and the know the players in the system are ripping them off. It’s like showing off that they can easily shrug off such absurd sums. The easier they can do that, the more likely it will start the ball rolling on that artist’s work and the people involved end up making a fortune on a type of pyramid scheme.
I tried the one for guys and there aint that many women out there that fit my stats, but I prove that we do exist so don’t give up hope guys.
When I did the one for women, checking the “not obese” box really changes the outcome for the worse.
Show and tell please!
Yes, so it doesn’t escape and suffer. Since alligators are cold blooded they are very hard to kill. They have a lot of residual nerve/muscle activity even after you sever the spinal cord as the law requires. Shooting with bow/airbow/harpoon only catches it. Then you have to finish it off with a point blank high caliber shot to the back of the head and then cut the spinal cord then ream out the brain with a tool to make sure it is dead even before taking it out of the water. Even still they are known to bite after all that.
Here’s hoping you have better luck next time and definitely post photos. Even what you do with the bounty. I just started learning about charcuterie and want to go hunting for wild hogs again if I can.
Love the “Gaad father”
Nice! I got an 8ft alligator last year with an air bow. But FL game regulations say you have to tie the arrow to a line for gators. I’m guessing you might not want to do that with a wild boar…
What is your armament of choice there? We can use the AR platforms here and they work exceptionally well for taking down multiple animals in a group. There’s a real over population problem here with wild boar and no bag limit.
I think it was nostr:npub1rtlqca8r6auyaw5n5h3l5422dm4sry5dzfee4696fqe8s6qgudks7djtfs who argued that bitcoiners and grandmothers basically give the same advice:
-Save money, go for walks, plant a garden, eat real food, don't trust the banks, focus on your community, get some sun, etc.
I think that comparison is under-marketed. We need some memes about it or something.
New NOSTR channel- “OnlyNans” where you can see grandmothers teaching us to cook, garden, preserve food, fix things, practice sound economics, give life advice, stack sats, etc and zap the hell out of it.
Or Yeet.
