Tried this way, but cannot make the Tor relays to connect.

Will likely need changes in the backend or a self-hosted Nostrudel with Tor access.

Currently having problems to publish through Tor over Amethyst also. Reading goes fine.

Are you using torsocks to run bostr2?

I figured if the bouncer is not torified the outgoing websocket connections are leaking the public IP of the server to the connected relays. (The client is safe.)

My systemd service here in a #Raspiblitz PR: https://github.com/raspiblitz/raspiblitz/pull/4724/files#diff-0ffb074f869361719e03a7d89046a39b7890b10abe0895f60c0d8a50c3c3b520R136-R160

Thanks, should be fixed. The experiment is ongoing.

Here is how I would start from scratch to have the best private nostr device and experience. Time to level up npub!

Buy an unlocked pixel 7 or higher with cash

Flash with #Graphene OS

Download Tor browser

Download Obtainium

Add Orbot

Add Amber

Add Citrine

Add Amethyst

Add Minibits

Add Zeus

Add Oxchat

Add SimpleX

Add Robosats

Add NewPipe

Select all the apps to run through Orbot

Now set up your nostr profile

nostr:nevent1qqst3quznpsjvh5crsp90z5el4d7vuqv4ectlf8mr2qgxy9thqsd9gspz3mhxw309akx7cmpd35x7um58g6rsd3e9upzpmd5wqn399avtfslyalne52du4xx066ue5sw7rva72d7rp59hvqyqvzqqqqqqyz9jxw2

Turn on Citrine and add it to the outbox relay settings in Amethyst. Add trusted relays as they see everything you do.

To add a zapping wallet open Minibits and get a free LN Address and add a mint. Now paste your LN address into Amethyst in your nostr profile.

Once you have 100k sats open a self custodial LN channel with Zeus Wallet using their LSP.

You now have an anonymous device, running over Tor, with a nostr signing device on the phone, nostr running thru orbot vpn, with a nostr relay on the phone, with a privacy preserving wallet with no personal info attatched.

For private encrypted DM log into Oxchat using Amber.

You can host your own onion nostr relay and a SimpleX server using a DIY Start9 home setup.

For purchasing No KYC sats use Robosats.

For watching and downloading videos use NewPipe.

Use Freedom Tech to stay private & sovereign!

To the #Nostr skeptics out there:

I don't want a global feed.

I want to own the whole stack.

Thanks, that looks even better. Thank you for the tips.

Now you really need to set up a lightning address in your profile to receive zaps. There are many options: https://lightningaddress.com/#providers

If not in the US and just starting out can heartily recommend the Blink Wallet https://get.blink.sv

Thank you for your inputs it seems from experience Strfry https://github.com/hoytech/strfry is the most efficient.

Not surprised, it is in C++. Let's have it on the #Raspiblitz too.

Next question for #asknostr:

I find the LNbits Nostr Client https://github.com/lnbits/nostrclient/ incredibly useful for #privacy. It is basically a Nostr level VPN which helps not expose my IP address to any other servers except my own and it just works on clearnet.

Quote: nostrclient is an always-on extension that can open multiple connections to nostr relays and act as a multiplexer for other clients: You open a single websocket to nostrclient which then sends the data to multiple relays. The responses from these relays are then sent back to the client.

Are there any alternatives which are more efficient?

In return when works for me I will make it work for you on #Raspiblitz.

Anyone running multiple relays have compared their performance?

Currently I am using the #LNbits extension which adds a nice GUI to https://code.pobblelabs.org/nostr_relay/index (https://pypi.org/project/nostr-relay/)

It also readily available on the #Raspiblitz.

I also run it on a VPS and it is a bit much (together with the nostr client I use as a multiplexer) for single core and 1GB RAM.

Now will set it up on an RPi5 with 8GB RAM and 2TB NVMe and just carry on using it if it is not overloaded.

The tradeoff is that the calls will be tunneled to my self-hosted (but way more powerful) Raspiblitz instead of running directly on the VPS.

This app sounds awesome, wonder if anyone tested it with #GrapheneOS.

Device recommendation is here: https://gadgetbridge.org/faq/best-device/

(looks like no Gramin or other classical smartwatches are supported yet)

I also miss being able to use Google Pay (I know - it is all borrowed money) for which some of the best ones I was given:

Pixel watch - mentioned by the nostr:nprofile1qyvhwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnddakk7um5wgh8q6twdvhsz9thwden5te0wfjkccte9ejxzmt4wvhxjme0qy88wumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmv9uqzpva683gyt7a0nxlfedx648ca0whwm2aql3dezkt9z830k7nsm4leqctypa account (hope it's the right one)

Garmin Instinct - with solar watch face serving for 2 weeks without charging in the summer, bigger the better.

First time I see the login page of my ISP router after uninstalling IVPN on Linux.

Don't get me wrong https://ivpn.net is my favourite public VPN (no info for accounts, can be paid with cash, lightning and monero for the freaks), but it doesn't mix well with my Tailscale - WireGuard connections.

No problem I can use some of the numerous VPS-s I can log into to be a Tailscale exit node to spoof the IP address of my devices and servers. They can be shared too.

A quick guide from the source: https://tailscale.com/kb/1408/quick-guide-exit-nodes

Thank you, we are having fun together! (Until it gets real serious :rocket: )

You can follow hashtags (at least on Amethyst). See one like #asknostr and just click on it to follow. It really made my feed more lively, loving it.

Have you got any nice tags to recommend?
