No King but Christ, just weights and measures

Never got into the FF lineup although some friends did. Same with WoW, both were too cartoonish for my taste. Especially WoW’s pink and purple trees back in the day! LOL

These days EQ is dated, but many fond memories help keep my interest and so much additional content. Never was into raiding much, but now I can solo a lot with a mercenary/merc NPC, and have found a friend who I enjoy duoing with. Soooo many quests, tradeskills, exploration to do, etc. and the best part is I can play for free.

When finances straighten out a bit, I do want to pay for a subscription… think it’s about $10/month if you pay annually. I’d like to support it and they release two new servers yearly plus expansion packs… May not pay for those, since they mainly add more end game stuff.

Will try to check out those ones you mentioned though :)

Love it, Al bough sometimes hard to get good sleep as a trucker. Wacky hours often don’t help.

What does help me is a good mattress (just got one on Amazon for $200/shipped (10” thick, twinXL, seems like 2” of foam on top of the coils but feels great and sleeping great the last 3 nights since I got it, vast improvement over that stock foam 6” mattress the company gave me!)

Also, I like a diffuser some nights with lavender essential oil, and a black screen video with thunder and rain sounds from YouTube. I wake feeling refreshed so far!

If you visit Portland, Oregon or Seattle, Washington you can see a lot more tent cities… Chicago is a place that I only go if I have to for work, but I have seen a few nice streets like your picture. They DO exist

Haven’t paid much attention to modern mmos. Any that you play? I’ve actually been enjoying a return to the original EQ, even as a free player. So much content now, I doubt I’ll ever see it all, even if cutting out the raids part. :)

Started playing EQ about 2-3 weeks after it’s launch in March 1999. Been fun visiting and amazing to see how far it’s come and explore new areas during my relax time.

I still think the structure of how Asheron’s Call allowed you to TRULY customize your character instead of being stuck into one class, was superior. However, EQ was far more social and that made it better for the long haul.

Nice! My buddy said if I can learn to spread gravel with a dump truck that I’ll have all the work I can handle and more. Only two gravel haulers in the county, and he said he’d buy the truck… so, May try that in another year or two. For now still working to set up side hustles on our farm :)

Heya Nicole, I hear you from time to time on Jack’s podcast. Someday I may have the free time to attend some sort of workshop at his place or yours. :)

For now, most days of driving I listen to a lot of podcasts, BTC has been a big focus lately. Sometimes music, but usually learning or chatting and sharing what I’ve learned. My buddies have said they feel they got the Cliff Notes version of biochar or different permie subjects! 😂

While not a coffee drinker myself, love your entrepreneurial spirit! Have a great Friday and thanks for the thought. 😁

I’ve been using Strike for about a year now, myself since #JackSpirko mentioned it, and really like it. Simple and effective, although was a pain in the rear to set up for me (not super techy so probably that’s on me!)

Listening to #CoinStories podcast with Nat Brunell, I started dollar cost averaging in but not daily, Strike let’s you do it hourly. So, join the #DCAarmy and DCA in at $1/hour, 24/7… 😉😁

Ah, the trucking life… 4 weeks out then 6 days home with pay, and the occasional 10 hour or 34 hour break at home in the middle! Seems a good deal compared to many trucking companies, and overall it works well for me. However, it’s trucking and you can mostly count on something odd to happen.

Take this trip for example… got an extra day at home (great), got loaded up and slept in the truck since my appointment was early enough that I didn’t want to wake up the wife for a ride to my rig at 0 dark thirty. Got up and did my pretrip, drove to the shipper, checked in and found out that apparently my work order was wrong and they are short about 200 cases because they had me scheduled for 0700 TOMORROW! Sigh

LOL, can laugh about dumb stuff like this or cry, generally I prefer laughter… but, still a bit frustrating! 🤪🤪🤪😂

LOL, I’m not a huge dog person but my wife is. After 12 years married she finally has had two dogs, although one disappeared and we had seen folks trying to lure him into their cars before. He was a very well fed lab/Pyr mix, but always beat up the girl, and pushed her out of the way for patting!

So, we miss him as he was super friendly to us, but the last couple months with just her she has really opened up and let’s even the wife and I pay her almost any time. The kids she has always let them, and she is super protective of them. So, really, she is more of a KGD (Kid Guardian Dog) than anything else these days! She is also friendly with our cats, haven’t tried her in the same area with the hens and roos, and we’ve not lost a single bird to predators since we first got them last year. The coyotes yip, but not near our place… 😍😂

Learning to harrow… tired of watching the soil blow away in the wind, or little gullies growing! Thankfully, my buddy loaned me a 14’ harrow and the next day his cone seed spreader, then harrowed again yesterday. Last night was driving rain for a couple hours 😱😢😂

What can a guy do? Gotta drive a truck to pay off the place, limited time to be at home working… so, I do what I can. 😉🙂

In basically 3-4 days I got the #pigs moved from the old house to new house and fenced in through some woods, seeded 65 pounds of clover and wildflower seed, and got all 3 #Layens swarm traps up so hope to catch my first #bees this year. Tired and back to the road to just work and sleep the next couple days!

Anyone else have a sorta goofy guard dog/livestock guardian dog? Our #GreatPyrenees wasn’t run over by the Gator… apparently it’s comfier under there lying on the gravel than on her pillow or flattened box or a pallet! Of course, this is the same dog that barks all night and flops down in a muddy yard to sleep… 😳😂🤣🧡

Good news, I think we may have some piglets on the way from the pigs we bought last year. Pure bred #IPPs (Idaho Pastuered Pigs), great quality lard and bacon, smaller than standard pink pigs and take longer to finish but they love grass and ragweed and eat much less feed than standards do.

Follow or holler at me if interested in either registered piglets or feeders. Weaning time is about 8 weeks after birth, so will keep folks up to date. Will try to get pics also, but harder to do when on the road frequently.

As a #nonresidentalien I don’t see zaps or any BTC as being “effectively connected income” to a trade or business within the United States/federal government. I guess “citizens or resident (aliens) of the United States” would still need to report it since they treat ALL income AS gross income, worldwide.

Thanks Jack for being such a jerk! Thanks in large part to you, I finally convinced the wife to move out of a major city almost two years ago. Now, look at this rough view we have to see since she hasn’t put up any curtains in our newly built, super efficient ICF home on 31 acres.

Now, I have a longer list of chores to do every time I come home from driving a truck… but she’s happy and so are the kids, so I keep finding ways to plug away and make it as entertaining as possible!

I think after we butcher the two steers we have, we are going to stick with just her #chickens and #IPPs (IdahoPastueredPigs), and my (hopefully soon) #bees with the swarm traps we built, #foddertrees, and #biochar!

The goal is to get off the road in the next year or two and just work of some side hustles here… :)

#GrowNostr #homesteading #chickens #NWMissouri

My wife loves her chickens… but, I don’t understand her organization of which eggs are oldest! LOL 😂 I know, as long as they don’t have the bloom washed off they are good for 30-40 days on the counter.

So many things learned from farmers and homesteaders. Why do we do so many things backwards in the USA? Many countries it is illegal to sell washed eggs… just glad we get 8-10/day from our little flock and not the store. These days 28 eggs is like $14 worth or so I think, unless you buy the crummiest commercial ones!

Glad they’ve never had the power to tax all Americans on everything they bring in… even if they allow the IRS to mislead most through deceptive wording! #nonresidentalien FTW 🤔😉😁

Just switched my number from this old iPhone 7S to a $99 Moto G Fast. Gonna leave that number as a work number, have a new number on my Pixel 6… will never have another iPhone, but gonna run this one into the ground playing Fountain podcasts over my hotspot 😂😁

It's healthy for Nostriches to continue to talk about our other interests, as part of me #grownostr personal series, I've talked about outdoor activities and beer. For today's chat, we'll talk about video games.

I found computer games in the mid-1900's and never looked back. I stopped playing console games immediately. Back in the 90's Quake and StarCraft were my original gaming obsessions. I still remember the IP address of my old Quake server 😆

Fast forward a few years and I spent a lot of time playing Team Fortress Classic and BF2.

And then, my fiance did something silly. She bought me a game she heard me mention a few times called World of Warcraft. I played that game a lot. I mean a lot. Way too much. The addiction was real. That game has so many mini-games to do inside it from farming materials, to gaming money in the auction house, to hardcore raiding, to achievements and so much more. From 2006 to 2018, I played WoW. I quit for a couple years at a time when my kids were born.

Eventually, I got back to my roots and started playing a first person shooter again in 2017. I became obsessed with Overwatch and played it non-stop for a few years in the evenings after the kids went to bed. I played in and organized several e-sports teams and leagues. This was a lot of fun. The past couple of years though, I didn't play as much as I was focusing my free time on other things such as Bitcoin.

I played Overwatch 2 for a couple months when it came out last fall, but stopped in December when I found my latest obsession, Nostr.

I went to BlizzCon in 2019. It was fun, definitely an experience. I would never go again though.

Some gamers will play dozens of titles, constantly switching back and forth. Not me. I find one I like, obsess with it, and strive to become the best damned player there is for that game. I'm really competitive 😆

I don't see myself getting back into gaming at this time. I like to talk about the fond memories I had over the years, but at this time, I'd father focus my free time on other aspects of my life.

I remember when EverQuest came out in 1999, March. A few weeks after my oldest was born. Ex wife and I played with him on a boppy pillow nursing on her lap! Played for a year or so, very social game. Revisited a couple years later briefly…

Now, as a trucker, some days I have time to go play that original MMO. Some weeks have more sit around time, and am gone from home, so have been enjoying experiencing the 25 or so expansions they have put out in the last 24 years! No pressure now though, just play and do what I feel like… explore, do quests, no raiding and no pressure.

When at home though, I rarely turn on my laptop… have kids and a wife, #homesteading takes a lot of my time, at church or church activities when possible. Living in a small town and having 31 acres to try and manage is enough most days, and more than enough the rest of them days. LOL

Still, some #Everquest has been fun, and these days can play as a free account, just don’t have access to ALL the content. 90% could keep me busy for a long time though!
