I've never had 100% self sufficiency as a goal, since I don't think it's attainable. But self reliance certainly is. And having a certain measure of self sufficiency should be attainable for most people.

Beekeeping is my latest new skillset. Most of the things I am doing skill wise right now are just further learning of things I already had some level of knowledge in. Motor mechanics, 3d design, and various homestead activities etc.

My list of to do next is long, but all in good time hopefully.

Skills. Humans have the unique ability to learn things outside of the instinctive neccessary activities of survival. But our modern, soft, easy culture of on time living has left masses of peoples with no skills other than one specific area of training. This only works because we live in easy times. Hard times create people with a diversity of skills and knowledge. But moving into hard times without those skills is painful.

Be diverse in your skill sets, learn new things always, don't rely only on others for your practical needs.

As a wise man once said, specialization is for insects.

As a plumber who works two jobs just to make ends meet I disagree.

My layens hive, setup and ready for bees, scheduled to arrive early June.

Framework of my pastured pig shelter. Going to cover either a tarp and possibly work on a wheel solution to make it more portable.

Doesn't matter overly much, though your local climate likely would dictate that. I always give transplants a good watering after planting so they don't take to much shock while they start to get their roots down.

Podcasting, btc, homesteading, sharing knowledge with people, d&d, fishing, 3d printing and much more. Lol

Thanks. I have read that. I don't spend enough time on any social media to really participate in the official grow nostr initiative, but I will try to post some things now and again. For now it's trying to make some connections with other people.

First day on nostr, trying to figure out how it all works. Definitely seems hard to find people that I might know or want to follow. #grownostr
