The client ecosystem seems very extensive though, do you have any specific rough edges in mind?
I used to work a “fuller stack” job (embedded/IoT + backend + frontend) so I can relate to some issues and who knows, fix something? Took me long enough to contribute back to open sauce.
I just arrived here and so far am shocked at the lack of spam, and seeing real people interact for once… wow, this is refreshing.
I suppose things are different in your country then, but in Brazil it’s just as I described. Works the same for both fintech and conventional banks.
Monopoly money aside, even a BTC wallet starts at zero so it’s not unheard of.
Still, even if LN channels were “free” you still need to understand when and why you need to open/close them, the whole thing is not exactly as plug and play as normal transactions from a UX perspective.
Just my two sats.
aktchually… you can, some won’t even wait for your first deposit before issuing debit and sometimes credit cards.

Send on-chain sats, open a channel, start zapping. There's no need to give your sats to someone else. Zaplocker makes it so you don't need an "always on" node.
We are talking about sending money unhindered by regulation, it's supposed to have a couple steps but they are not hard to take.
I believe the hardest “step” to self custodian zaps is the amount required for locking in a LN channel.
Context: I’ve been basically living under a rock for the past 5 years, eating and breathing work until I got burned out, so I lost track of what happened to the stuff I like and the world in general.
So I was asking… ChatGPT… for alternatives to zer0net, as the project appears to be dead now, and Nostr, despite not being an apples to apples replacement, got listed as number one.
I found the site to be rather beautiful but if you were to ask me to put my pedantic hat on I could list some points of concern I would have regards the UX for an average Joe.
I’m typing this on Nostur, from macOS, I love the fact that it’s not some electron slop, but to be fair I haven’t tried other clients seriously yet.
I hate to bring the bad news but, without some added mechanism, this would only work for truly static pages (i.e. those where the same .html file is served over and over again) whereas most of the content served is tainted with server generated “fluffy”, which could range from some ads on the sidebar to the very text of an article being changed.
My point is: even if we both visit the same “page” at the same time, it’s more likely than not that we’ll get different versions served, even if they differ only by a few lines of code and would look identical as far as the actual content is concerned.
hey -- we want to send you a test zap, but couldn’t find a NIP-05 or ⚡ lightning address on your profile. u can set one up for free on rizful https://rizful.com ... then pls reply here and we will do a test zap.
