This is interesting.
Supposedly self custody and yield on a stable coin called YLDS, approved just now by SEC in the U.S.
I have just came across.
Perhaps worth taking a look.
Before you cry shitcoin, notice that they claim it is a stable coin pegged to USD, and you self custody it, and it is approved in the U.S., and you get yield.
If true, I do find it interesting while I'm not at a #Bitcoin standard just yet.
What people think?
Great point to take time to reflect before taking action. Viktor Frankl said it, too. There is space between stimulus and a response.
Thank you.
Very interesting.
I'd like to play with something like this myself.
How do I start? Get Gemini pro and upload my instructions as a long system prompt?
Is it similar to custom GPT?
Can you please say a bit more about how you built it?
Which base model were you using?
RAG technology?
We need something that works without trusted third parties.
It is #Bitcoin
They have the power to hold.
The power not to sell.
The power to keep their Bitcoin.
It cannot be confiscated.
It if extremely hard to be stolen, if properly secured.
They also have the power to transfer Bitcoin to any address they want and nobody can stop them from doing it.
They have the power to spin a full node if they want.
Makes sense?
Anything else?
OK, but on my bank account history, there will be a bank transfer to a person I don't know, a Bitcoin seller.
The bank KYC-ed me.
The government will likely easily find out who are the people who regularly receive bank transfers from random people and tag them as likely Bitcoin sellers.
Then they can easily link it to me.
Of course, that I sent a few banks transfers to a known bitcoin seller does not prove anything.
And I could testify I don't remember what this transfer was for.
But I could be on a watch list.
And then, if I buy a house or car or whatever, tax authorities may come and ask for the source of funds.
And then, if I didn't pay the capital gains tax on sold Bitcoin, I'm in trouble.
I don't want that.
I think I must and will pay all the due taxes anyway, even though I think taxation is theft.
So, it seems to me, the main value of going through the hassle, risk and cost of non KYC, which is 5 percent, non trivial, so the value is limited to the fact that a centralized exchange will not know my data.
Well, many know it already so the milk has spilled already.
What am I missing?
Is there some other true value for me of non KYC buys? Other than the ethos.
Hi everyone, I have undecided yet, how much I want to disclose about myself, out how to use NOSTR, but I am someone who is seeking good life.
Thanks. Makes sense.
To your question, I'm unsure yet, just exploring.
I keep thinking exactly how to even use NOSTR: as a news source, to keep up to speed on Bitcoin, as social media entertainment through memes, as a way to make true friends online, find my tribe?
I still don't know.
how to stay safe on NOSTR, meaning, how to make sure I do not disclose my real life identity? (for privacy and safety reasons, as, even talking about Bitcoin may imply for a criminal that I have some)
I guess:
1. do not share information about yourself (which could allow others to identify you)
2. use VPN (to make it harder to see from which IP address you posted something, which could disclose your location or even identity)
3. do not use a lightning address that is custodial and KYC-ed (as the custodian knows your identify so it could be traced back)
Does that make sense?
What else?
even the question of this survey is wrong (not to mention that 47%+8%+9% of answers are wrong :-)
because "the best technology" is not everything
network effect
adoption
utility
it is like paying for "likes" on Facebook (years ago ;-)
but OK, you got my follow
after all, why not

On topic. What do you think?
Study it, OK, but even if, which is likely, I conclude that some or most of this is true, what can I do about this?
How is this better understanding of the world making my life and decisions better?
Honest question. What can I do even if I invest time to research and conclude this is true?
It almost feels like to me, almost independently from all this, I should focus on my health, financials, save in hard assets, exercise and sleep and eat well, care for my peace of mind and relationships, etc.
Yes, if like to know how the world really works.
But I will not start a revolution.
What I can do is try my make my life better, with the choices open to me.
Does that make sense?
I guess I'm looking for a balance between interest in understanding the world and things I actually can do.
Yes. Sad but true. I agree on the moral aspect.
