There seems to be some KYC in the form of, they mainly take Bank Transfers, which means they have a registry of who bought when.

This can happens in DEXs too, except in DEXs there's a layer of decentralisation in private info. In the case of a CEX like Relai, it's all centralised and accessible by whoever has access. Unfortunate.

I was surprised how much better pathfinding seems to work compared to Phoenix for instance, I'd been having issues with Phoenix for a while, with multiple amounts and played with the base fee setting, but still had many issues. So far, Zeus just .. Works.

Proxmox should really be zone-agnostic here, so you're able to create VMs across multiple zones as needed, I don't think that's the issue.

You can use Proxmox's Network Tab to setup the 3 zones by either creating 3 separate interfaces and hooking them to each VM/LXC, or bridging the zones across a single one.

As for the applications, just check the logs for each service and it should tell you what's wrong.

Within the respective container, run telnet localhost [Port Number] - If it can't connect, then no web server is running and that's the problem. If you get an "empty" response, then it connected successfully. This can also be done as long as you're within the same network and firewall policies are properly configured. Umbrel gives you SSH access to its system, so may be easier to start there.

Funkwhale - Alternatives?

So I've setup my own Funkwhale pod and enjoying it.

Setup my music Library, and started mirroring podcasts via RSS feeds.

The issue:

My issue currently is the lack of maturity around Android apps. Most apps are Subsonic apps (Funkwhale's compatible with their API), but as an example, Podcasts aren't supported on the Funkwhale app. According to the Devs, there is some work expected around this over the next year.

The question:

What I'm about to get into and what mostly interests me is the Discovery opportunity using Funkwhale's decentralisation - I can find new content by federating with other servers. Are there any alternatives around music & podcasting that do this in a self-hosted manner?

Really seems like a service issue. Have you checked the logs for Umbrel & Start9?

Are you running these bare on the VM, or using docker containers?

Ensure they're not using the same ports.

Also, ensure you try HTTP & HTTPS.

On Start9 as an example, you need to access http first where it'll give you a signed cert and a root cert to add to your local machine before accessing it over HTTPS.

Exploring #Funkwhale to catalogue my music library, as well as #podcasts... Very much enjoying it so far. Self-hosted.

Haven't delved into the #federation side of things yet.

Even Reddit is really bad now, it's become stagnant the last few cycles.

No real talk or discussion about the technology, no interest in it as a protocol, it's all about pricing, everyone cheering each other for buying bitcoin on CEXs, just begging to get burnt, little to no talk about DEXs and you just might get downvoted for bringing it up.

It's become the echochamber it always feared it would become, with constant back and forth bickering with /r/buttcoin.
