Testing #Coracle

Pretty much.

Revolut becomes the weakest link in the chain, but for them you're just sending money to someone, somewhere, for some reason (don't include anything to do with BTC in the reference (I usually include the order's last digits so both I and the receiver can identify that order).

Nowadays, with global e-commerce in the form of eBay, Etsy, etc, it's almost impossible to say "that person sent money because of BTC". You'd already have to be targetted with ongoing investigation at such a point - However, if you don't use that option, the seller can indeed be a very weak link because on the other end they may gave a KYC-esque ledger themselves that keeps track of who they're "supposedly" trading with.

Either way, you gain a higher degree of plausible deniability at the very least.

Also recommend RoboSats and Bisq (have done hundreds of trades across), and Peach Bitcoin (if you're in the EU).

I'll be honest - Not familiar with Ninjavoice, and it says it's "Free", however it's not open source. When that happens, that's a red flag for me. If something says it's "Free", but the source isn't viewable/open, that means its free users are paying somehow, somewhere.

It's self-hostable which is nice, but it still shares data it seems:

https://invoiceninja.com/self-hosting-privacy-data-control/

Guess it comes down to how comfortable you are with that.

To be clear, I have no problem in paying for software (and I actively donate too), but having source available show confidence in their security and transparency in their work ethics.

Personally, as someone who seeks sovereignty and already self-hosts everything he can with open source software, if I'm self-hosting something, then NO data should leave my network, and the product should continue to work. If I'm running a business, I'd also not be sharing any PII data with the software I use. Telemetry metrics for debugging? Perhaps. But no PII. That's just me though.

I think finance is definitely one area where open-source software needs a big push. Odoo seems to be the best of the bunch in the open source, self-hostable options.

Too great an imbalance in the number of elderly for there to be meaningful change within ~4 years. That goes for the people in politics too. Change will come, but I think we're at least a decade before that happens.

To give credit where it's due, 10-15 years ago Portugal was considered to be 30 years behind most first-world countries - From public infrastructure, to business opportunity. Today, I'm glad that's changed as much as it has. No where near perfect but some changes are really palpable, especially in the tech field.

Hoping to be able to return to the homeland someday.

There seem to be multiple alternatives to Quickbooks which you can either self-host or run locally, that are free and open-source.

Homebank and the Odoo suite (The Billing app specifically) are a couple of examples. They also run on Linux.

I find it amazingly ironic, over the years we've seen these lists of the richest people on earth and how the outlets like to keep track of what they do etc, to my knowledge just capitalists, and soon enough on the number one spot what they'll all have to look up to, admire and contend, is a pseudonymous figure, who until today bestowed one of the most altruistic gifts ever given to mankind, one that really rivals that of the supposed gift of Christ the bible and all christians like to mention so much, but this one we can actually say "Yep, that happened".

If Satoshi's out there, I hope they continued to stack seperately from their main stash - Live a good life, but remain a symbol forever to all those that won in this rigged game and those who look up to them, at the expense of others.

#DragonBall creator Akira #Toriyama has died.

HUGE loss for the world. Such a big part of my childhood, taught me so, so much. I am who am I thanks to his worlds, and I know many many others share the same sentiment.

The worlds he's created will live on with his fans.

And it's also up to us to ensure whatever companies decide to do with his IP next stays true to his spirit.

Rest in Peace.

#RIP

Can confirm no audio.

This kind of stuff is going to age super well though, the internet doesn't forget. Too many people haven't realized that.

Unfortunate there are so few music streaming services offering DRM-free music. Music preservation is going to suffer immensely.

Wtf kind of take is this...

That's the exact kind of take the legacy financial system has over #Bitcoin. It may not be fully private, but it's definitely anonymous.

Unfortunate that there are still so many people that do not understand technologies are tools and protocols are languages.

Soon enough they'll have us censoring code too. Fuck that.

#Cashu improves on pretty much everything in custodial solutions. Best of all, it's optional. But no, let's bash it. Let's bash tor while we're at it too. Nevermind the fact that many people around the world can BENEFIT and even have their lives SAVED by such tools.

Or even technologies and platforms that enable oppression, ex. KYC.

Julian gets pulled back into court in the UK in an attempt to stop extradition to the US, on the same year that the US is holding elections.

Being persecuted for telling the truth - It shows how irrevocanly, unhopefully broken and rotten our world is.

I will never understand this, I will never forgive it and I will never forget it either.

We march on to ensure the collapse of the legacy powers and hopefully ensure that the waste of this man's life and time away from his loved ones never happens again, to anyone else.

Very interesting post on #StackerNews and I have to agree with the highest-zapped comment.

#Nostr without likes would be a sight to behold.

That being said, I think self-custody Lightning has a way to go to make 1sat #zaps viable. Perhaps if nostr clients integrate #cashu or #fedimints this would become much more viable.

...That's the first thing to do otherwise all it's doing is adding to the decentralisation. That's great, but you're still trusting someone else's node. Pair your wallet to your node.
