This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I actually don't think the referral/ad model is that bad of a revenue model for products like a social network, HOWEVER, that's only if the ads don't involve:

1. Data collection on the user in order to target the ads

2. Excessive frequency of ads

3. Disruptive placement of ads in the interface that get in the way

I think at their best, ads that are done correctly and don't do those 3 things are essentially a product discovery/recommendation tool for users that also allow their nostr client to remain free.

Wait I'm just now noticing your bio #[0] that you're THIS Sophia? https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4730875/

That's why I like to use rsslay.nostr.moe to create a bridged nostr profile of the twitter profile, and then I link to the nostr version of the post. Extra work, but it's worth it to keep the Twitter link out :)

Looks like something to that effect being worked on by his team here? https://gitlab.com/soapbox-pub/nostrverse

Yeah I'm surprised to not see that share sheet integration very often on Android. I expected it on iOS because none of the native iOS nostr apps (as far as I know) have direct media upload, so share sheet integration would only be useful for sharing a link.

Once more nostr apps on both mobile OS's integrate direct media upload, I expect to see more share sheet integration.

I love coming across incredibly niche categories like this, where only 1 or 2 people fit the description

I'd like to see Nostr clients intelligently ignoring the trailing "/" at the end of relay urls.

This way, we don't have cases where a user has "wss://relay.damus.io" but their client has "wss://relay.damus.io/" in the recommended relays list, and therefore thinks you don't have the damus relay added and recommends it to you.

Is this like Brazilian Geek Squad for older people that don't know how to install apps?

I like to use https://nostr.watch and I filter by ping and location. Then periodically, I'll check my relay list on Amethyst because it shows you how many notes are downloaded per relay. For the newer ones I've added that consistently show little to no notes downloaded, I'll prune those out of my list.

For sure, you should use a nostr signer extension (like nos2x, alby, etc) when logging into a web client, rather than directly inputting your nsec.

Couple nice things about this one:

- It's relatively fast

- It shows link previews (not very common with web clients unfortunately)

- It has a handy "FoF" page that simply lists friends of friends for you to check out: https://flycat-web.vercel.app/fof
