For being opensource not means it is good, also open source doesn't mean it will be good. Además te comento que usa un sistema en cloud para hacer un resizing de las imágenes, básicamente pasa a todos los usuarios por su proxy personal. No sé si con la idea de en un futuro generar dinero o no sé, pero bastante extraño para una app libre y que no lo especifique en el readme.md.
Me atrevo a decir que decenas de personas le han comentado a este personaje este asunto, pero se niega en rotundo a desactivarlo. Para mi, esa aplicación murió. He hecho un fork del código fuente en su estado actual por si algún día me decido a cambiarlo de alguna forma, pero después de revisarlo tampoco me interesa, pues hace muchas operaciones inseguras como pasar todas las imágenes de TODOS los usuarios que usan amethyst por el mismo servidor proxy para hacer un resize. Aunque el servidor es seguro, los logs quedan ahí con el registro de quién, cuántos y como han accedido a tu supuesta app libre.
