Most influencers have become statists. Fuck the SBR.
Texas' is well written from a custody standpoint, if you believe the state has a right to build a 'reserve'. (Are they hedge funds now?). I looked at WY and OK for somebody who requested a review, and they both contained ETF nonsense. Scanned a few others but has been a while (would check Utah - likely to be on par with TX as they're a little more sovereign and smart than most, but not sure). I'm not a believer in empowering the state with stolen funds converted to Bitcoin, so that's about as far as I'll take it. Almost all state Treasurers are left bell curve fiat normies advised by criminals like JPM - lemmings.
There are one or two well written bills requiring the state to self custody. The rest are fiat ETF trash hype anyway and pure theater.
On Insurance: Most insurance is a rent seeking scam today. Life insurance is in many ways a scam targeting poor people who don't save. Homeowners insurance is a complete scam, "required" if you have a mortgage (sadly, almost everybody). Rates increase ~12%/year even if you have 0 claims for 20 years. Car insurance (except liability and UM) is also a complete scam, unless you suck at driving or like to chase deer and fiat-financed your car at a stealersip (again, then required). Providing 'safety' feelz to the non savers in exchange for the monthly vig.
There is a reason all the high rises are built by insurance companies and banks: it is a massive rip off - where the house makes Vegas casinos rake look like Mother Theresa.
Sorry, I enter the conversation skeptical🤣.
How does the $5 Wrench attack insurance pencil out? $X per $ thousand per year/month? Is it actually underwritten to the individual and their risk profile? Not sure. So after a big hack, will they jack rates across the board ("Katrina was the excuse for about 5 years to raise rates in the great plains)? Finally, as I understand it from the pod shilling, after the ransom claim is paid you forfeit your Bitcoin to that extent anyway. Sure, there's some narrow use cases where it might help . . .
Curious what type of HW wallets do you provide in that environment? Am thinking of a similar project where I live.
The Jefferson Bible helped me. While President, he redacted the entire New Testament to only include the teachings of Jesus, removing the mysticism that possibly found its way in long after his death. He literally cut the relevant passages out with a knife and pasted them into a volume that can now be ordered online and is easy to read. Jesus's life and teachings, that's it.
Now show which of those states allow IOU Bitcoin (ETF) versus the state responsibly custodying the actual asset.

drone show was fire!!
Heros will always disappoint. Once you come to terms with this, you are more free, but less well known.
The Remington 870 12ga shotgun is one of the most ubiquitous, low priced, and very good for home defense.
Couldn't agree more. Many former freedom tech influencers forgot about potential unintended consequences of encouraging the state to pump their bags. I have been ranting about this for a long time. It is clear that many on this thread don't have a clue how brutally the state enforces it's initiatives. "Give us your corn or we overwhelm you with force, then cage you for as long as it takes."
That's just the Wyoming US Senators, Burasso and Lummis in a photo op. I highly doubt Burasso could even spell Bitcoin (and Lummis is pretty much another run of the mill RINO judging by her voting record). Of course, the NgU maxis love her because she wants government to gain even more power over us by owning Bitcoin: all moneys in support thereof will be derived from either taxation or inflation.
We need more of this converaation. All the so-called influencers have been converted to bootlickers of the debt riddled state.
Reformed from the KYC rugpull days of bnktothefuture? If so, congrats.
You talk a lot about rent seeking. Most insurance today qualifies as a rent seeking rug pull. Homeowners insurance will go up 10% per year on average even if you have 20 years without a single claim. It is NOT underwritten in the sense people think it is: an actuarial fraud. There is a reason most of the high rises are owned by banks and insurance companies. I decided to avoid the home ownership insurance scam 10 years ago and the money saved really adds up. Of course, you also have to escape the mortgage banksters to be able to do this . . . lie in bed with dogs (mortgage banks) and you're going to have to get fleas (ripped off by insurance). Not living in a fire/hurricane prone area helps.
Happy Birthday Bitcoin!
